As I like all rooted beers, I voted for every one that I remember drinking; for good measure, I've also included votes for "screw you" and "TG-16 rewlzz".

My votes: Safeway, other kosher brand, and TurboGrafx-16 rulez!!

I've always loved rootbeer, that's for sure. I've been thinking about making a rootbeer float lately... it's been too long.  :-k

Hobo Xiphas

I've never had kosher rootbeer but it sounds really good.  I bet it goes well with kosher hot dogs.

The Jews really know what they are doing when it comes to food preparation, in my experience.

You may have had kosher rootbeer and just not known the difference!  As for the Jews knowing what they're doing when it comes to food preperation... I think they had a good teacher!

There is a brew house by me that makes a real nice old fashion root beer,
nothin' beats a nice draft right from the keg.

I thought the only difference between Kosher vs non-Kosher was that the Kosher sodas had to be made with
all cane sugar. Is that it, or is there more to it?

This poll reminds me.... back in 5th grade I remember we had a class project of brewing our own rootbeer!! I wish I remember how to do it, as it was almost 20 years ago now!

Mine came out pretty good!

I think that is the major difference in the case of coca cola! I'm not sure in the case of rootbeer but definitely it involves the perceived purity of the ingredients.

Kosher schmosher  :P

Give me a Stewart's Root Beer any day. http://www.drinkstewarts.com/index.html This stuff is awesome. The root beer is great, but all their other flavours destroy the competition. Orange 'n Cream or Key Lime....forget about it. It's impossible to sip.

Also, it comes in GLASS bottles. This whole plastic bottle thing is the pits. First of all the plastic has harmful chemicals, secondly pop just doesn't taste as good in a plastic bottle. Also glass is more environmentally friendly.

Don't even get me started on beer. Beer out of a can is terrible. Bottles all the way! If they start putting beer in plastic bottles I'll lose my mind. lol  [-(

I know that they can't have a big chunk of ham floating in it like the inferior brands do.

OK. That's an exception...I guess. I won't have to start a radical protest organization over this. In those kinds of situations where I'm forced to drink beer out of those flimsy plastic cups I can usually keep my composure after taking a really deep breath.

That's hilarious though that you replied with that image so fast.  =D>

Yeah, Coors has been doing that for about two years as well. You can buy them during the summer at most convenience stores in the Seattle area. The plastic bottles are 16oz instead of 12oz, too.

I don't know if you can get those plastic bottles up here in the Great White North. We take our beer drinking seriously up here.  :P

Yes, yes, and yes to everything you said here. :D

The only root beer that can compete with Stewart's is this stuff made by Health Valley. rootbeerreviews gave it a D+ though...I guess the reviewer can't hack it or is used to getting his tongue burned off by over-seasoned sewage-beer.

Regular Colas should already be pareve. However, there are special rules for passover, which involve not eating corn, which means you can't have High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is the sweetener in most non-diet sodas. Therefore, some companies produce passover kosher soda during that time of the year. but the rest of the time, there's no reason not to drink regular soda.

That all depends on which branch of the cult he gets into. Not all of them practice that barbaric, unnecessary ritual anymore.

I have to say that A&W's root beer float is pretty nice. Especially in a frozen mug. Actually, A&W's root beer or cream soda is totally dependent on drinking it out of a ice cold glass mug. Drop some vanilla ice cream in there and you're laughin'.
