10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

OK, so there's a point about three levels in, where you encounter a cliff....
At the edge of this cliff is a springboard. If you jump on the springboard, the game sends you back to the previous level.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about, and can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do here?

 Thankee!

Keranu

Green springs are used to take you back earlier in the level incase you missed the key. If you don't have the key, there is usually an open pit later on that you can't pass until you have the key.

I was playing this game again yesterday  - it really is a perfect game for a sunny afternoon.  Looks great, plays good. I love it (but I suck at it).  TG16 CLASSIC.

I'll be happy to take you up on that, but I'll wait until Stevek666 is on hiatus again.

I thought it was absolute crap the first few times I played it, but have since found it oddly soothing....
You can just sit back and mindlessly play it, being slightly entertained, but not emotionally involved.

Hey my face was dripping with emotional tears once I saved the chick at the end!

Sorry just noticed this post now! How long as in how many days/months/years it took me to master it to beat it or how long playing through the game itself takes?

 I still haven't beat it....
I just slowly plug along, resuming my game for 5 or 10 minutes at a time on the VC.

My God, this game has a lot of cheap deaths.

Just like the classic big name platformers.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!
