I'm going to break this up by difficulty level, I hope that's ok. Please make a note about whether you used auto shot, turbo, or neither and I'll make a note of it next to your score. Non auto/turbo scores go to the top of the list!

Leading things off, here's my introductory recruit class score (as you can see, I was foiled by the nasty stage 5 boss)

I spent about 30-45 minutes with Image Fight today-- the first real time I've had with it since I got it two weeks ago. Here's my recruit-class score with auto-fire on:

Level 4 ... not too bad at all!

The level 4 boss totally owned me for a couple weeks! He's no match for me now, though.

Yeah, I got to him today and he made dogmeat of me. I had to continue from the checkpoint just before this GAME OVER screen.

Now that I know his game plan he'll be toast next time.

Well, with God's help I was able to finish the three term papers I had to write over the weekend on time, so today I've spoiled myself a bit with some Image Fight!

I still have three books to read in the next couple weeks, so I only played 1 credit, I believe.

I played on the hardest difficulty, CP staff, with auto shot on. I carelessly got myself killed by the usually easy level 2 boss and then got blown to smithereens at the checkpoint alongside the big space cruiser.

108, 500.

My first real sitting with this game since I bought it. Figured Id give it a a go.
Recruit-class score on auto fire mode.

On one credit I got up to stage 5 and died with a score of 218700 before I died.
I took some pics in between stages to show my percentages:

That level 5 boss is only the last practice boss. The first 5 levels are training levels to prepare you for the last 3, which are the real levels.

It can be a real pain... the key is getting that thing that starts out in its jaws to come out and chase you. When it comes out of the jaws (mandibles?) you need to sneak past. You can use red pods, or if you have a pod under your ship you can use that, red or blue, and you can also damage it with your boosters by changing speeds repeatedly at close range.

Michael, what are your impressions of Image Fight?

I think its a great game,but def a tad on the hard side. After that boss I died at I'm not too motivated to play again for at least another month. That way I don't get irate at the game and start hating it. The other plus to this game is the ship looks like Jetfire kinda.

Michael, it's definitely a hard boss and a hard game, no shame there! I myself still haven't taken the time to really master that level 5 boss... the key is getting that thing in the jaws to come chase you while at the same time giving yourself room to slip past and enter the jaws.

And then not crashing once you're in there, which I tend to do...

You were at almost the exact same spot that I died in my screenshot back there. I need to play this game again and see if I can pass that level.

That damn boss kept getting me. He just bombards you with missiles. Once he turns pink, the missiles start to come down faster and less wide spread! I had to grab that power-up that shoots those green bubbles everywhere just to clear a path to him.

It takes a lot of precision to maneuver around the boss and into its jaws ...

Me thinks me score is posted wrong

My current top score is 218,700 from my 1 credit run to stage 5 before I ran out of lives.
The score you listed for me was after I had to continue and made it to that boss and you gave me a extra 0 there too.

rags gave me a rare treasure,a new copy of image flight. finally opened this 21 year old bottle of wine or aged scotch and savored it,the smell of a new hucard was intoxicating! this must have been how it was for japanese kids back in the day. So for the last 2 days this was the best i could do:

Bust3d-270,900-Recruit-Autofire

I was lucky to one life the first 5 stages and then got absolutely smashed when they stripped
my power ups and launched me into a shitstorm.

Right before boss 5 I took a pic just in case I went mini-hulk and smashed the damn thing.

beat lvl1 and 2 100% then got interrupted.
paused...............got back to it and died

Just played both the Image Fight games for the 1st time this winter and think they are both great.

Here is my current score, recruit class Auto Fire. So close to a 1CC. You can see in the pic I'm just about to the final boss at my last death. I'm going to keep chipping away hopefully can 1CC then move on to a higher difficulty. Really the only crazy hard level is the 6th stage.

Thanks, I messed with just about everything a little bit. Maybe I should hook up my Turbo Stick and give the single shot mode another go. I feel uncomfortable with a regular pad without auto fire. I may have to play some again soon, I had a ton of fun with both Image Fight games this winter. I was able to beat the leader class but not 1CC it - didn't play much Captian but put some time in CP just for the absurd hardness of it which was fun for awhile. The recruit class is def the most fun because it's hard but not stupid hard.

A tip that helped me on the 3, 5, 6 bosses for sure is have speed/pod shot turbo switch up and find the weak spot get your pod on it and the pod shot just destroys the bosses. That 6th boss pissed me off like crazy till I figured that out then he became pretty easy. Works on leader class also.
