Slightly stolen from the turbo thread.  Games that you bought on a whim but can't get into.
First up for me is Nectarsis.  It looks like a great game, but I'm worried that one, I won't understand it, and two, that I won't have the time to put into it.  Does it have saves or codes?

I regret to say, I've never even booted it up.

I'm not playing Monbit. I don't know why, I've never even tried.

Faceball - I don't like the PCE version 1 bit.  Than again I was never a huge faceball fan in general.

I've never played nectarsis, but I have played military madness - easy to learn game play and it has codes, I think you'll enjoy it. It just works well in general - a strategy game at it's best.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Drop Rock Hora Hora

I heard the JPN ver had some bizarre story/visual cutscenes that would make playing it worthwhile over the US version.

nope, still sucks.
currently playing:
PCE - Raiden
SNES - Chrono Trigger
DC - Fast Striker

who could say?  I purchased it long ago so the details are blurry.  I can only get to the second level before the yawns completely take over and my mind wonders to something else.  The only proof of cutscenes I actually have is what has already been documented on the internet, i.e. the intro:
perhaps the story continues as the game progresses?  I just couldn't be bothered to find out tbh.

usually I swear by Sunteam Paul's ratings, but Drop Rock doesn't seem that bad.  And it's hella cheap.  Looks like a neat GT game.

I dare you to play it for an hour and say the same thing.

Xanadu (first one). I did play the first area or "level", using the handy guides and stuff I found here, but I found the game very tiring with all it's running back and forth, and my general lack of experience with older RGPs coupled with that I had trouble deciphering where I should go next and ZERO engagement or interest for the story....somehow made it a bit dull. I did quite like the side scrolling boss bit & the music in some places tho'.
CHECKPOINT!

Devil's Crush...

...because I picked up Dragon's Revenge for the Genesis this morning and plan on spending a bit o' time with it this afternoon. :)

Keith Courage

I'm not playing Hatris because it's boring.

I am also not playing any of the Quiz type games since not being able to read Japanese kind of ruins the experience with those.

Is hatris really that bad?  That's another one I wouldn't mind trying, just because it's unique.

Sylphia, Bonk 3, etc.

Don't own 'em.

Bonk 3 is ok, but it's not as good as the first 2 IMO.  That said, if you like the first two, there are worse games.
