I used to watch this show, Total Panic, all the time, Sunday mornings, 3 hours long, with skits, quizes, cartoons, music videos, live music performances, and most importantly, videogame previews and reviews.

In this video, we have Andy Eddy of Video Games & Computer Entertainment, along with Greg Lee and Molly Scott (what a cutie!)  previewing the TurboGrafx-16, Sega Genesis, GameBoy and Lynx

Ha! That was pretty entertaining. Growing up, I never had cable TV, so I missed out on a lot of shows. Sure this particular show may have been corny, but seeing TG-16's R-Type playing on the screen (and witnessing Eddy's careful enunciation of, "Keith. Courage. In. Alpha. Zones." is pure good.

I like how they promote VG&CE by explaining how invaluable the maps are.  :pcgs:

Well I had cousins that I visited, so I was able to watch my Nickalodeon and Mtv.

That chick keeps, saying "Oh WoW" I keep reminding myself how women actually looked good at one point, now everybody is all flat, and boring. I mean "wow" oh "wow" like "wow" and then she pets the computer Monitor that is connected to the genesis. That one was "wild"......"I've got it, I dun it myself umky".

Then they completely blew the Turbo Grafx away by saying "The Genesis will have online play threw a modem" which it did......but nobody knew about it ( especially those people who had no cable ).

Lets pick the kids who magically appears outside of the seating rows.

Atari Linx blown away completely. "oh look it can't fit into your pocket but you can fit it in a book bag?"

Were those kids on the show all drugged up or something? The hosts pulled them out of the crowd and it looked like they could barely walk or speak.

Maybe they were beaten, tied up, painted red hinies. You know those show biz types who do what they say. Bush, Obama, Conan. They probably had the kids study their lines, and while the camera was off them, they just repeated what was told.

This show would always have one supercool 10 minute segment. They also showed the animated Star Trek. But the show was 3 goddamn hours of the kind of content in this video minus the games.

If you listen closely, she sighs and mutters, "You're my b!tch now, Bydo empire."

So at least you remember the show, not many do ^__^

I don't, but it's not because I wasn't around back then... We couldn't afford (or didn't need to afford, if you ask my dad) cable in the 80s, so I passed by all this Nickelodeon stuff. By the time we did get cable in the early-ish 90s, I was past the age where that kind of programming was appealing. I spent most of my cable viewing hours watching MTV and shit like that (you know, back when they played music videos).

We had this absolutely GIGANTIC rooftop antenna in the 80s and were able to pick up most local channels from the city. It looked exactly like this:

You don't see any of these on houses anymore, that's for sure.

nat, at least you got cable in the early 90's!

I was using aerial antenna for the entire time I lived with my parents.

When I moved to California, I had to climb on top of my roof and dismantle an aerial antenna (I felt sad, as if it were the end of an era...even though I never personally used the aerial antenna in California).

Rich folks had motorized aerial antennas, back in the day. A little dial on a small box inside your home controlled a motorized antenna to achieve maximum reception. I never had this, but I still think it is kool.

My parents never had cable and neither have I; I don't need 1200 channels of worthless shit - 12 channels are enough.

I got cable in the mid 1980s. Also our first color television, a 13 inch Sony Trinitron monitor. Great for playing some TurboGrafx-16 games on ^__^

We ha cable our whole life, but that was just the standard in swissle back then I think. Only folks out in the deep country (aka pampa) had these antennas mounted on the roofs. We also had some pay TV stuff I remember, but only because my uncle worked for such a company and we got a rceiver device (pure and cheap analogue decoder) for free for a very long time, until they had changed everything to digital broadcasting.
Also our TV sets had standard RGB (via euro scarts) and S-Vid input since very early. So most import consoles were already RGB moded when purchasing them.

From the first video, the lady talking about why would you put a whole map of the game in the magazine?  And the guy answers: "the games are so complex, so difficult these days"

It seems like some things never change :D

Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!
