Turbo express No power

I have a Turbo express that just doesn't power on. I've tried both an AC adapter and batteries and I get nothing. No screen or sound. Screen stays completely black and does not turn green or white. Any ideas of what part of the board would make it have no power all together?

There is a black fuse right below the power switch that might be bad. Test with a multimeter...

Just tested the fuse and I believe it is bad. Couldn't get anything to come through my multimeter. Any clue what the specs of the fuse are? All I see is that it is 1A.

Okay the fuse is definitely bad. I bypassed it and the system turned on. However, still have no idea what kind of fuse to use to replace it.

technically any fuse rated @ 1 amp will work as long as its over 7 - 10 volts

you can try picking up a 1 amp nano fuse as they are about that size

Thanks for the help on the digikey number. Now I know what I am looking for. Picked up some from a local electronics store and the turbo express now works great. Thank you also pceslayer for helping me diagnose the problem. I've never had a Turbo Express with problems other then capacitor issues before. So the no power problem was something completely new to me.

Well, I am now working on another turbo express with no power. The problem is not the fuse on this one and when you flip the switch to turn on the system I can see the light on my ac adapter dim like there is a huge drain. This doesn't happen on a good working turbo express. With the power switch off the ac adapter is just fine. Anyone have any ideas as to what is fried? I have a feeling this board is toast but wanted to see if anyone had any ideas first before I just sell it off for parts.

i would look at the 5V regulator circuit.
the TE does not use a 7805 like the consoles do, it uses a voltage converter chip instead.
i havent looked it to it, but i suspect its near the top of the board.

Keith did you use a 125V 1A fuse?

Yes, that is the fuse I used.
