Yes.

I picked it up back in the day but never played it because it looked like too much work(being unexperience with M&M) when I had so many other PCE RPG's to play instead.

I sill plan on playing through it, just like every other non Mahjong or Dating Sim Turbo/PCE game ever made.

Unfortunately, I'm still making my way through all those other rpg's.

how much does a US Might and Magic lll go for these days?
I'm a cunt, always was. Topic Adjourned.

GUTS

I sold a mint used one a few months ago for $75, there was a sealed one up that went for like $90 right before mine.

doomfarer75

ahhh..don't tell me that!  lol..I got a pure mint one with the case,  booklet  for much more.  did yours have the map?

GUTS

Yeah it did, hah.  I didn't want to sell it for that much, but twice in a row there were sealed copies up that went for about $90, it sucked.  I was hoping for like $100 for it, but I needed the cash so I took what I could get.

To this day I look on Might and Magic III with awe. It's a bucket list game for me, although I'm not sure which is the best version: PC, Duo, or SNES.

Bernie

The Duo version IMO.   I've played all three versions too.

PCEngineHell

Pc version is the best easily. Has better graphics and a smoother interface. Its not a fair comparison anyway. Pc was more powerful and the game was made with Pc in mind first and foremost.

Bernie

If I remember correctly, the PC version had a few weird glitches in it.  Certain spots in the game would cause it to freeze up.  Tho that could be one of the other ones Im thinking about.

I've never had a problem with the game, though the game was released both on diskette and cd. I have only ever played the cd release, as I don't collect diskette versions of games.

I knew the SNES version was severely lacking, but damnnnn  the Mega CD version looks like crap.  Thanks for the screens.  :)

Arkhan Asylum

The MCD one is surprisingly nice, despite looking a bit underpowered.

I'd be curious to see the Amiga one next to those too.   I'm pretty sure it will look about the same as the DOS one.

I played most of the way through the Mac version BITD (installed from diskettes) and it's definitely superior to the Turbo and SNES versions.

The music on the Turbo version is weird and the scrolling lags a little bit, which is very unfortunate.

The SNES version supports the mouse, which is nice. I know MMII on the SNES had some censoring, so MMIII probably does as well.

Here we are, 7 years later, and I still hope that someone will send me Might & Magic III on PCE.

I played the PC version (disk) years ago. :pcgs:

I know someone who is probably going to list his U.S.-released Turbo Might & Magic III complete with map copy on eBay in the next day or 2, but he's probably going to be wanting $150-200 for it.  I'm not up on Turbo CD prices at all, so I don't have a clue if that's a decent deal or not at all, but if anyone's interested, then PM me, and I'll help you get in contact with him.  I don't know if he's willing to go down at all or not, though.

I own both versions for the TG and Snes cept I've never playedthe one on Snes only picked it up caue it was a buck. I love the TG version so I'm glad I didn't pay more then a buck on the Snes version lol.

I had no idea there was a Mega CD version. Genesis beta version as well, which is kind of strange that they would bother to do a cart version.

I'd probably go with the Duo version unless there is some major content from another platform that I'd be missing out on. From what I've heard of the music, it sounds pretty cool to me. And I'm not really into playing games on a computer. SNES would be my second choice.

I'm definitely interested, but not for $150 dollars. Maybe $60-100 and thats pushing it.

150.00 really isn't a bad price for MM III.

phiffttt!!!!  What say you!!!???

PCEngineHell

I honestly cant believe anyone would pay the asking price for Might and Magic III on Duo, but to each their own. Some people just few it as a investment that will rise in value, or because they want a complete set of North American releases. But as a game itself, riding on its own gameplay merits, you're not going to get $100+ of fun out of it. There is a lot better titles on the system you can nab for a lot cheaper. In no way is its high asking price due to it being some A++ title. Its more like a C+ to B- one on Duo. It would be like if TV Sports Basketball only had maybe 300 copies made and came out near the systems end of life here. No one would want to play it, but people would pay $200 for it regardless cuz its omfg rarez. Rare garbage is still garbage, and rare average games are still just average.

CrackTiger

Even back when M&MIII was already "at" these prices, I bought and sold a few copies pretty cheap. I just kept getting rid of it eventually as I found each time that I wasn't ready to invest the required time to learn to play the game, when it's easier for me to jump into so many Japanese RPGs that I have yet to play through. In the end I just bought the Turbo version disc-only and keep it in the other slot of my Japanese version. So it has infinitely superior packaging now, while still every bit as playable.

The game was designed for a mouse and programmed originally for awesome high color bitmap jive.   It looks alright on the PCE, but the DOS one is going to deliver the best experience, and you won't pay no 150$ for it.

Heck, you can get those archive ones for < 100$ even, and get more games.

:)  Guess I am one of the guys that just really enjoy this game.  I have to admit though, it has a lot to do with sentimental value.  It's one of those games, along with Beyond Shadowgate that I bought from TZD back in like 1995 or 1996.

Hmm, looks like the Turbo version is closest to the PC, other than the color palette. However, I kind of like the way the colors look. The Sega CD one scares me. Those clouds look horrid! What the Hell?

Hours? We measure in lifetimes.

It will take 8-10 lifetimes to complete M&M III on Turbo.
IMGIMG IMG  |  IMG  |  IMG IMG

Bernie

To play it and do all side quests, ect.. you are looking at well over 50-60 hours or more.  Then again im the guy that plays the game till the game hates me.  I've got well over 200 hours in Final Fantasy X.

PCEngineHell

Lol, yeah I can be the same way depending on the game. I've clocked in maybe 180 hrs in on COD:World at War. Prior to that I put in about the same between RTCW and Wolfenstein ET.  All the little online matches add up. And theres all those old games like SF2 , Primal Rage, Mk3, or Need for Speed 1, where over the years I have put so many hrs in I'd never be able to keep count.

I'll assume that it's possible to absolutely destroy this game, no matter the platform?  I recall becoming waaaay friggin' strong.  I think what I did was work several weeks in a row for that guy in the first town, & then put the $ in the bank, worked a whole lot more, until I got stron enough to battle the guards in the castles, so that I could loot the treasure's, & then put that $ in the bank, & worked alot more, & then just did upgrade after upgrade after upgrade.  Nothing could touch me, though, I may have still been vulnerable to instant death hits.  You do ofcoarse get wayyyy old doing this, meaning you're stats go down a bit as you age, but, since you have so much money's, you can still become stronger then anything in the game.

IIRC, there was a $ exploit in the SNES version. A friend of mine had it, & I think there was a way to keep recieving $ from treasure chests or something like that...

Yes, I remember doing this, too. I spent my entire career in the first town. I never left the town, in fact.
