Hey folks. I made these pages a long time ago and since I won't have time to make them pretty anytime soon, I decided to post the links here.

Hudson's Online Catalog, translated, + some semi-interesting notes.
Click on the image (screenshot of Hudson's search page) to go to the actual Hudson website. Links to the first batch of HuCards, CD's, and SCD's are lower on the page...

Telenet's Back Catalog
Not nearly as sophisticated as the Hudson search, but HEY! -- at least Telenet took the time to put this stuff online. Check out the PC-Engine manual scans! Lots of neat stuff...

Dark Fact

I've been to that site a couple of times while browsing japanese Ys sites.  It's pretty nice to see that Telenet hasn't forgotten about its previous game incarnations and put it up for all to see. :)

The translation is a nice improvement! Thanks, Steve! :D

Sorry, but I don't see your library card on the books of Ys.  Now, RETURN THEM TO ME!!!

Cool.  I've gone to Hudson's site a number of times, but never knew that telenet did the same thing.

It's a shame that other companies don't do the same thing.  It's as if anything older than PS1 doesn't exist to them anymore.

IIRC, Nintendo has a similar catalog and they list all the games for each of their systems.  Of course Nintendo's own games have detailed info while 3rd party games are mentioned for completeness.

One thing you don't want to do is browse through old TZD catalogs.....

$39.99 Dynastic Hero

Check my site for Turbo, Neo, NGPC, and superguns!

Hey, it gets even worse: they started the BOGO (Buy One, Get One) offer a long time ago, so you could have snagged Dynastic Hero and ____________ for $60. I only bought stuff from TZD when they had BOGO .... I guess it was mid 90's and it was still pretty expensive (for me, since I was used to buying used 8-bit games). Now, however, I'm kicking myself for not getting more stuff from TZD.

PC Gaijin

Around 93-94 one of the mail-order houses (Totally Turbo or maybe when NEC cleared everything out to TZD, I can't remember) there was the mother of all sales. They blew everything out, including most HuCards for $7-10. I remember that sale because that's when I got most of my Turbo collection (prior that that I only owned about a dozen games, rented all the rest).

Sega Japan used to have the entire Saturn catalog up on their web site, but I think it disappeared a few years back. They also had Dreamcast, but I'm not sure if that's still up or not either.

What happened to Telenet after 94-95 anyway? I wasn't even aware that they still existed. If you look at their site it appears they're making porno cell-phone games now. :? I think Wolfteam got into making the Tales RPG games in the mid to late 90s, so I figured that's where Telenet went. Hudson is just a shadow of their former selves as well, it's kind of sad to see lots of developers that were big back during the 16-bit days either just disappear or be reduced to churning out cell-phone games or regurgitating Bomberman and Mario Party every year. :(

Heh, I wonder if they ever made a Valis hentai game. :D

It is a sad shame though.  Back in the early 90's, there was a renaissance of gaming coming out for all consoles.  Many developers were exercising their creative skills to churn out some of the best action, RPG, and adventure games we've ever seen.  I really, really miss the early 90's because to this day, I don't think any gaming company had ever released such an attractive onslaught of games like NEC, Nintendo, and Sega did during the early 90's 16-bit console wars.

Damn! I wish I had known about that.

Hey, is this where you found some of the info on the Dreamcast PCE download service?

Well, at a certain point, I think that Hudson, Telenet, Sunsoft (yeah, I found their site not too long ago) realized that they are no longer able to compete as a mainstream developer / publisher, so they find a small niche that is profitable. For Telenet, the boobies are profitable in strip mah jong, delighting many a cell phone user, I'm sure ... Hudson, however, seems to be surviving somehow and publishing games on current consoles/handhelds, but with a new revenue stream coming from mobile / cellular gaming.

Sunsoft doesn't seem to be offering anything to get excited about.

I don't know, I guess they're making money, but it's really sad.
