I'm taking a flight soon for work and I wanted to find a few podcasts to listen to.
Does anybody still listen to these things?  Does anybody still make any good ones?
I used to like retronauts, but I don't think they are around anymore.  There is a lot of garbage to filter through and I didn't know if anybody had any suggestions.

The only two I've enjoyed are Josh's and Paul's.

I've grown fond of the Retro League, but they do get s few facts wrong so if that bothers you (DragonmasterDan!) you may want to skip it. They have two series about the launch and death of consoles where they detail one console per 'cast. Might try the Turbo/PCE ones of those to get a feel of how the show runs.

Intellivisionaries is a new one I've been listening to, but mostly b/c recently I got a interest in the intv. They get a bit long winded tho.

Non-video game related, my girl loves extra-hot-great. It deals with 80's to today TV/pop culture. I've enjoyed a few episodes when she is in control of the radio (which seems to be all the time when she is in the car w/ me)
TG/PCE Collection.

Just like DragonmasterDan, nothing pisses me off more in a podcast than screwed up facts. Having said that...

-VGMpire is growing on me - they get some stuff wrong and banter on about bullshit every once in a while but it's a cohesive show with great music choices and some good background info on the games/developers involved. The hosts have good chemistry together and are pretty funny. Has taken up the VGM torch since the Legacy Music Hour went kaput.

-The above mentioned Retronauts link is their new Kickstarter-backed series of podcasts...think they're planning on fundraising for this every year to keep it going, which is sure to cause some controversy. This latest "version" of the podcast started out the gates kicking ass; they had some really good topics lined up (the game music episode was top notch). In recent weeks it's really shit the bed...part of the Kickstarter deal was that certain levels of backers got the pick topics of discussion, and lot of the topics are horrible and/or a snoozefest. But it's still my favorite retrogaming podcast regardless.

-I've been a long-time listening of the Insert Credit podcast. It's kind of an acquired taste - like ESPN's "Around the Horn" but for games. The show is about 50/50 retro and new games, so it's not a true "retro" podcast. The hosts can be polarizing also. Some episodes are stellar though and they always broadcast the recording of the show live on Youtube.

-HardcoreGaming101's Game Club 199x podcast is another one of my must-listens when it comes out about once a month. If you can put your hatred of HCG101 behind you, this is a good "book club" style deep discussion about one game a month, spanning PC and console. They pick some really obscure ones to discuss sometimes that are really interesting.

-Not truly game-related, but the VGMpire guys do a podcast called Lasertime that's generally about 80's/90's pop culture nostalgia and it's awesome. Listen to their "Shame Songs" episode for a good laugh.

Yeah, Retronauts is the only one I listed to. And I typically listen to a whole bunch of episodes at a time on road trips. So I'm a bit behind on newer episodes.

I've really been enjoying Watch Out For Fireballs. I'm not sold on Back In My Play yet, but here's their episode on Rondo and here's their episode on Bonk's Adventure. I thought the Rondo episode was pretty good, Bonk less so but alright.

They all suck.

I've grown increasingly finicky and annoyed with folks who waste my time.

Now, of course, I would love the opportunity to waste your time.

Just don't waste my time.  :pcgs:

If I listen to a podcast these days, it's stuff like:

Critical Path (with Horace D)
