Hey there,

I am new to the PCEngineFX forums and wanted to introduce myself.  My name is Chris and I have been making games at Microsoft since Crimson Skies in 2000 (and before that at Looking Glass Studios).  I've been a big gamer since the early 1980's and over the years, Turbo Duo, Neo-Geo, and Xbox 360 have been my favorite consoles although I really loved the 8 and 16-bit era.  I started collecting Turbo back in the 1990's and amassed about 40 games before they stopped making games for it.  Over the years, I've continued to fill in gaps and am now down to my last 7 games needed to complete my CIB set.

The 7 remaining titles that I need are: Legend of Hero Tonma, Bonk III: Bonk's Big Adventure (HuCard), Chase HQ, Turrican, Psychosis, Godzilla, and Bomberman '93.  I'm looking for complete copies in Very Good to Like New condition.

I have French Canadian versions of a few games, so if I can find Very Good or Like New CIB US copies of the original Bomberman (not the 4 in 1) or Monster Lair, I may be interested in those as well.

I ran some game stores and sold a lot online in the 1990's (Game Proz and Game N'Play brick and mortar) in Woodinville and Bellevue, WA so have quite a bit of leftover Turbografx and PC Engine stock that I am willing to trade for the games that I need.  I still trade and sell games at local game shows (Seattle Retro Gaming Expo and Portland Retro Gaming Expo) and a bit on Ebay and Amazon.
Anyhow...I'm hoping I can find a good community here to help fill in collection gaps and to also fill in my own.  I'll post a list of the Turbografx and PC Engine stuff that I have for potential trade along with what I deem condition grades based on Amazon's system of New/Sealed, Like New, Very Good, Good, and Acceptable condition grades in their respective forums.  I'm happy to take pictures of any items or answer any questions on my stock too.

Thanks!

Chris

Hey, welcome and good luck with the quest - you're so close. I don't have anything to trade you at this point, but I'm always interested in buying games if you'd be willing to do that.

As for working at Microsoft...can you pull some strings and get them to work on Game Room again? I loved that platform.
I'm a notorious strange man.

Thanks for the welcome...I'm going to try and put together a post on what I have to sell/trade tomorrow.

...and I so wish on Gameroom.  I worked with Krome for a couple years on Viva Pinata and loved playing Game Room.  Wish they had released more arcade classics from the late 1980's and early 1990's, but still sunk a ton of money into that game.  ; )

Welcome!
Kick back and put your feet up and stay a while. It's not just about buying and trading. I'm sure with your background you have stories people would love to hear.
Also please liquidate your excess stock to induce a world wide price crash.

Welcome to Pcenginefx!

So, what is the most recent TurboGrafx-16 game that you have played?  Also, have you tried out any of the Japanese side of the console - the PC Engine?

Welcome, comrade :)

All but one of those remaining games are totally fun to play.

I will let you guess which one I consider to be the "dud" of the group...

Glad to see you made it over here!

Thanks all for the welcome.

Yeah...I've heard Turrican on Turbo isn't very good.  I remember playing it on Super NES back in the day and enjoying it, but I've never played the TG-16 version.

The last Turbo game I've been playing is The Dynastic Hero.  I was never into Wonderboy over the years despite being a big Sega fan.  It's a decent game, but not worth the price.  Before that I played through and beat Magical Chase which I also liked quite a bit.  Before that, some friends and I played through Dungeon Explorer I and II for Extra Life charity last year (along with some Supergrafx) in 24 hours of gaming.  Also have been enjoying Neutopia and tried out Shockman, although I was not very good at it.  Definitely has some similarities with Megaman.  I'm looking forward to trying to play it co-op and see if it is any easier.

I've got a decent PC Engine collection as well...probably 75 games.  Dracula X, Street Fighter II', Martial Champions, and Flash Hiders were what got me into importing and eventually opening a store.  Die Hard Game Fan was my favorite magazine back in the day despite how cheesy it seems now.  I'm actually looking forward to meeting Koji Igarashi this weekend and getting either my Rondo of Blood or Nocturne in the Moonlight (Symphony of the Night) signed by him.  He was only in the special thanks of Rondo, but was Design, Developer, and Producer in Nocturne so I'm leaning toward that one.

Also enjoying playing a lot of newer games with my 5 year old son.  We've worked through all the Skylanders, Disney Infinity, and most of the Lego games in co-op on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
