I wasn't aware you could beat the game. I thought it was always a high score attack type thing. Some of the bonus stage bosses are hard to complete without draining. That said, I always wondered what the password thingy was for.

Genny version at least has a final boss
I suck at pinball games regardless, so it doesn't matter to me. :P

Phase

When I first got the game back in 92 I "kind of" beat it twice, first I got the ball stuck in the very top of the board, upper left corner under a blob, after a while I think the game just played the ending. Then right after that I was trying to build up a score using passwords and the next day I must have made a mistake entering one or it gave me a funky one but after a few minutes of play it cut to the ending. Keep in mind this was a long time ago but thats how I remember it.

I still try to get the ball stuck up in that corner with tilt when ever its in that ramp, but haven't got it to work again. I remember it getting stuck there a few times when I first got the game(like that weekend). I still play the same game on the same turbo but nothing. Maybe using the coax and having an old tv back then caused a micro flux reversal shift. The best part was when we finally checked, the TV and Turbo.. weren't even plugged in.

I've collected a lot of Pinball games across various platforms and indeed, Dragon's Fury and Dragon's Revenge for the Sega Genesis, one of them was Devil's Crush TG-16 with a fresh coat of paint. I think it was Fury. There is also a long forgotten sequel to Dragon's Crush released exclusively on Super Famicom called Jaki Crush. It is every bit as good as Devil's Crush and then some.

I've seen the ending via a password but I've never gotten past a tenth of the required score on my own.

I don't think so. Even as a Christian, the demonic images don't bother me. Then again I also have ACDC's Highway to Hell on 180g vinyl record if that tells you anything. It's not like they're slaying innocent kittens by putting a pentagram or goat's head into a pinball game.

Jaki Crush has a wonderful asymmetric feel to table design which really enhances the gameplay and makes it feel truly unique. There's a side flipper on the right hand side midway up the play field, and if you cradle the ball and hit it at the correct angle, holding the right flipper open as the ball sails, it will pass up into the top level playfield. Sometimes with the traditional triple level table designs popular with retro pinball sims, where the ball is dispensed onto the middle level, it is sometimes very tricky to get the ball up into the top level. Typically this is where you score the highest points too...

I think it was more that they thought the dark/evil themes were intriguing to their target audience and also set their games apart from other virtual pinball games.

Way back in '92 or '93 or so, I got about 1/3 of the way to the ending/highest score, saving my password as I went...

Oh, to have free time like that again.

You are okay with Highway to Hell anyway - the song is about traveling on the road in a touring bus for a living.

I have finished it - but it was a total fluke accident.

I was playing around with the password function one day and randomly put in a password and the game started?! I played for a like 20 minutes and the score hit all 9's and the ending kicked in.

I forget the exact password - but if I am sitting in front of my screen, I can usually put it in. it was a ton of a's, n's and k's iirc.

It is a great solid rock album, perhaps their best alongside Back in Black. But if I had bought the cassette when I was seven or eight instead of discovering classic rock when I hit my thirties, I'd like to think my mom and dad would not have been pleased.

OT, but the lead singer of ACDC died in his sleep shortly after the album released. That's some eerie forshadowing...  :-({|=

What's the requirement to finish it? Max the score out at all nines?

I almost did that once. I put in a random password, and the score was almost maxed, and i seemed to have unlimited balls.

Played it for two hours but still couldn't max it

I have and it's pretty bad. And you're talking to one of the biggest fans or retro pinball sims on the planet. If you want a deeper adventure game with pinball, might I recommend Kirby Pinball Land (GB) and Mario Pinball Land (GBA)? Those are very deep games complete with stage bosses and a ton of gameplay content. Both allow you to pause progress and resume using built in save battery...

For NES, I recommend Pinbot and High speed as they are loosely based on real tables but with extra bonus stages. In pinbot, things start to get crazy as you progress through the planets. Your ball eventually tuns into a triangle with totally bizarre physics. In High Speed, there are bonus racing minigame levels, as well as some rather annoying ball gobblers that break up the pacing a bit. High speed also features voice acting very similar to the real table, a true rarity for NES games. =D>

I also have had the stuck ball, doesn't really count, max score.  I too cannot replicate the glitch.

Video pinball games are some of my favorite, I don't know why, but I can't get enough.

Is there a video of this glitch online, on real hardware, Virtual Console, or emulation? If someone could reproduce this glitch, I'd like to see it!

Lets get to the bottom of this. Took about 50 tries, using a save state. I hit 5x fast forward and at about 8 seconds I hit tilt to get the ball loose, I think it can get stuck farther toward the left as well. yeah video sux was trying to keep it short so I wouldn't have to compress it.

Got it to work with non turbo tilt, hit it many times while its in the ramp to screw up the ball momentum, even after it bounces back. If your lucky sometimes the ball will slow down; stop tilting and as it gets toward the top it will get stuck.

100,000 every five seconds.
