I ordered a boxed/modded PCE Duo R console from Japan. It comes with the original NEC power supply, but the seller said to use a power supply from a US PSone/PS2 slim/Genesis 2 since I'm in the US. What is the safest psu to use? What do you guys (in the US) use on your Duo/Duo R's?

Bernie

The seller doesnt know what he/she is talking about.  Use the original power supply.  I use all my original power supllies with my Japanese systems, including pc engines.  And yep, I am in the USA.  Matter of fact, a lot of us here in the states use Japanese systems, with the original power supply.

Ok, I just want to make sure I don't mess it up. I use a few other Japanese systems too (Saturn, PS2, DC), but Duo R's aren't as readily replaceable.

I have a regular Duo that stopped working and I'm not sure whether it was the power supply (system doesn't turn on).

we can repair your duo.
no power (wont turn on) is likely the supply

You're far more likely to cause damage to your new Duo R by using a power supply designed for a different console than by using the one that comes with it.

There is a website: gamedoctorhk.com that sells all the power supplies for the pc engine range, which are 100-240v, and it is around $10 shipped.
