What was the best game in the series?
IMHO, the Original had the best gameplay, but the 2nd had awesome graphics and sound.

I voted for Chapter X, but only because I had it back in the day and consequently played the hell out of it.  I don't recall ever playing parts II or III, but the original was damn good fun as well.

P.S. - What's wrong with eating live pussy?  I'm not down (so to speak) with necrophilia.

that's the only one I've never played. Should I put it on my list of games to get when I get a super game boy?

I thought it sucked. And from what I remember (it's been a long time) every level has the same crappy music.

You may as well; it can't be worth more than a couple bucks (what GB game is?), so you won't be out much if you end up not caring for it.

My brother and I played the heck out of the original game. He was better than me, though, and I borrowed his techniques to beat the game. We borrowed the game from a friend, who said it was veery difficult, so naturally our goal was to beat it ASAP.

Some of the platforming can be unforgiving (narrow ledges to stand on)!

something odd I encountered: I was trying to rember the game over tune from Wizards & Warriors 2, and searched all over youtube for it, and found, like, one instance of it.

turns out, they used the same tune for the shops, which I had forgotten, and nearly everyone calles it the store/shop theme.

hey.  thats the best tune from the game!

Rare had a pretty badass way of making echoy leads for the NES.

I voted Ironsword because it was the first NES game I bought. I beat it and Wizards an Warriors. Never played the newer ones.

Arkhan Asylum

so far it looks like both NES ones are getting equal amounts of love...

not much for visions of power though.... hah:)

I never knew there was a Gameboy installment.

And it was good, you and Arkhan say...

Damn. I don't have enough time on this planet to play all the games I missed out on.

TheClash603

Keep in mind it was one of my favorite games when I was 7...  I haven't touched it since.  I am going to pick it up at the flea market next time I go and give it a spin.

TheClash603

Wizards and Warriors: Fortress of Fear for the gameboy is not quite as good as I remember it.  The sword attack feels weak and doesn't give any impression of being a warrior. Also, the spring like jumping is kinda odd, and is a straange design choice.

However, I will admit the graphics do have their charm.  Also, the game does feel like wizards and warriors, I especially like the text in the game. Lastly, I am a big fan of the music.  I am going to try again to beat this game, but I don't think I will be successful, it is very difficult to control.

If it crosses my path, I'll pick up W&W for Gameboy. I love playing installments that I never knew about. I overlooked a lot of Gameboy games, because, hey, it was the stupid Gameboy and I didn't consider it worthwhile back in the day.

I was a console-chauvinist, what can I say?
