Oooo I love messy mod that actually works!  Looks very ghetto.

Even if you wired up stereo sound as well, you still have an extra wire.  That's pretty much what my first console mod looked like.

The black wire, is the Audio-ground, and one of the green wires is the Video-ground. I couldnt connect all the grounds becasue i had a seperate wire for video and than one for audio. so I had to use a different pin for both grounds.

Love it! I made something similar only for RGB output. No amp but it displays okay on my CRT TV.

But despite how ugly it is, it works.
LOL, nice work. Its not ugly, if it works its a beautiful thing. Buy yourself a small black project box from radio shack and some rca jacks to go in it. wire up everything inside the box, then have just a few inches of cable come out the back of it to plug into the turbo. That will make it look more spiffy.

Drakon

You should wire it up like the prototype version of the lpf I built.  Stereo headphone jack to rcas.  Then a bunch of components soldered with no box connecting to another pair of rcas on the other side.  So just have some sort of non mounted rca jacks with the wires twisted onto their connectors!  Solder free!

Ack!  KILL IT!  KILL IT!   :lol:

It's beautiful man, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I'm busy playing pinball, but I still drop by to visit.

Here is my take on it (kind of like what HercTNT said) and my first ever mod: https://imgur.com/boreE

I just finished building it today. I used an old AC adapter for a project box, 3 RCA extender (cheaper than buying 3 jacks although a bit hard to solder) and a PC front I/O port cable (since it's flat, I don't have to cut the EXP bay cover and both this and the power wire can run through the hole) to connect to the EXP port on the TG-16. I also made a little sticker to show what are the connections on the box. I have yellow for video, red for right audio, green for left audio and black is the unified ground for all three RCA connectors.

I did a quick write-up of it somewhere else, here it is in a nutshell.

* I only had a spare twin AV cable at the time, so my cable is mono only, but you should be able to follow what's going on and adapt it to a 3 way AV cable (video, left audio, right audio)

Grab some cheap AV cables and strip one of the ends. Separate the ground wires.

IMG

Pinch some header pin plugs from an old PC and attach to the stripped end of your AV cable. Finish up with a dab of solder and some heat shrink.

IMG

Connect them to the rear expansion port of your console as follows:

IMG

R = Right Audio
L = Left Audio
V = Video
G = Grounds

took me a couple looks to see what you were getting at. frank you missed an audio channel in your tutorial.

^ I mentioned it as the start of my tutorial. :)

I ripped up the only spare RCA cable I had which happened to be a twin cable for the sake of putting together a simple tutorial. Pretty easy to follow what's going on and add the second audio channel with a 3 way RCA cable.

This is great. My US Duo is temporarily down for the count. So this will be handy to play my US TG-16 until I S-video mod it. Then again, I only have 4 US HuCards and 20 PC-Engine ones. I would be better off just waiting, but am definitely doing the S-video and AV cable mod later on.
