I just saw that Nerf guns are really cheap, and seems like it could be fun.  I know my friends has a load in his office.  But I'm not really sure what you could do with them.  It's not quite like airsoft or paintball, and I'm not even sure if there are any games with rules or whatever.  Anybody had experience with them?  The other option is a BB gun I guess, just for target practice.

Paintball guns are popular and reasonable for practicing a firearm. Make sure children are not in the area, unattended or is ease of reach.

Sounds like good advice for when regalsin is around

I have a plan already.  I'm gonna have to pick a group of friends who know each other, which shouldn't be too hard, have the pub as a safe zone, and if I work with another guy, we can easily hand-deliver the envelopes to everyone without them knowing (with an explanation of the rules).

I just read the Wikipedia entry too, and I think I'll allow water pistols, Nerf darts, and timebombs (alarm clocks) just cause it's fun (but a pain to get the photo back in some cases - I think I'll add in a warning for that.

Somehow I've managed to restrain myself from buying these. It was hard to resist the full auto belt fed mofo, but I did it.

THEY ARE ONLY POTENT FOR A SHORT TIME...soory caps!
I want to be more like 337.

The Wolf: If I'm curt with you it's because time is a factor. I think fast, I talk fast and I need you guys to act fast if you wanna get out of this. So, pretty please... with sugar on top. Clean the fucking car.

Arkhan Asylum

They're not nearly as fun as an adult as they were when I was little.

This is mainly because I am taller, so I can't really flail around in my basement the same way.

Playing outside sucks.  Fuckin darts go all over the place and they're harder to retrieve from grass than they are from carpetting

If you have a big ass indoor tennis court or basement, you might have more fun.  I can run across my basement in like 4 steps and slam into the wall, so it's kind of dumb.

Lazer tag is where its at for growed ups.

In high school, we would buy the nerf guns cheap, modify them to shoot a bit farther, or whatever we thought was cool at the time, then we'd walk or bike to the local park and have full on games in the woods with these things.  WE used mainly the bigger darts/arrows and balls not the little ones with the suction cups. (too hard to find afterwards)  It was a lot fun actually, well except that time an old lady called the police "reporting a gang of teenage boys with guns cuasing havoc in the park".  Needless to say kinda took the fun out of it that day.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Arkhan Asylum

We do that Dagorhir foam-sword fighting shit out in the woods.

We don't take it seriously like the LARPers though.    To us its just non-fatal sword battles.

I used to do this with a group that eventually started calling the Jungle Gym "Skullfang Keep", so I stopped going.   I wasn't down with kicking kids off the playground so we could run around and act like dipshits in faeryland.

In the woods, we've found that lazer tag is more fun because you don't have to go fetch all the darts and shit afterwards.  Plus you can play at night.   Except it really sucks when you run full tilt into a fucking tree branch

I sword frighted with towel racks, swiped my friend glasses right off.

Yeah, laser tag is probably amazing.  I used to play it in my teens a lot, but in one of those places where you're in an arena.

But, I've had a think about the battle royal, and I've made a kind of graph of a bunch of people, and then drawn "lines of connectedness" or whatever to link people that know each other, and I'm going to drop a few who aren't as connected.  So there will still be a chance someone has to hit a target they're not familiar with, but more than likely they'll be ok.

I think I might give up on the whole secrecy thing too, just in case people get freaked out, or if they don't have any common sense and need some advice.  But I'll call it a test run.

Thanks man.  I think I'm gonna buy a Jolt, as it's easily concealed.  Should be perfect for some assassinations >___>
And if I like it, I'll consider some others, like the Maverick.
