Here's a little project I've been working on lately. Iv'e wired up one of my spare old Dynamo cabs so that I can play my Duo-r through it. At the moment I'm using a VGA 19 inch lcd monitor to display my image through crappy composite video, both joysticks are wired up so that they both are able to use PS to PCE adapters for the controls. What I'm looking to do is upgrade the monitor with one of my spare 19 inch Sony PVM monitors. My Duo-r is RGB modded so I figure this approach would give me the best video quality results possible. The tricky part will be fabricating a bracket of some sort to hold the monitors chassis in place after I completely take it apart and mount it on my cab. I was also thinking of maybe using a RGB to VGA adapter if the PVM idea became to much of a pain to figure out. I can't wait to complete my project as I am totally looking forward to playing all my shmup PCE and TG16 games on it !!

an xrgb upscanner will make  this a perfect project, but it's expensive and rare

I also note that you're using an original 20 year old arcade cabinet, are the joystick still ok after 20 years  of usage, maybe a hori replacement will make it good as new

I'ts funny you mentioned the XRGB as I just recently sold mine. They work really great and get the job done but as in the past few months I became a video quality nut and started hunting down multiple Sony PVM's. Nothing I have owned or seen at this point looks as crisp and incredibly sharp as RGB monitors imo. The joysticks are about 7 years old now and really didn't get a serious amount of usage throughout the years. I rebuilt them recently. After I'm done figuring how I will go about installing the RGB monitor the next thing will be a full restoration make over on the entire cab new plexi, buttons, t molding and paint.
