@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Have you ever been so thoroughly impressed with an actor/actress/director/musician's performance in a film that you were a little peeved when you found out that they didn't get an Academy award, or even a nomination? Sure, there are plenty of other people who did work worthy of an Oscar, but damnit, YOUR guy (or gal) should've got it that time!

One performance I'll never forget was Will Smith's portrayal as Chris Gardner in 'Pursuit of Happyness'. I mean, Smith nailed that one. I actually forgave him for 'Wild Wild West' after I watched him in POH. Oscar? No, but I'm not too miffed about it since Forrest Whitaker got it for an excellent performance in 'Last King of Scotland' that same year. I'd really hoped Smith would win, but I admit Whitaker was a fine choice.

Got any remarkable performances you've witnessed that came up empty on the Oscars?
My past-life would've surely led to our demise, and I had left it not a moment too soon. Our escape, though dangerous, had gone well. The train ride, sunlight, and passing snow-covered pine trees came together in a flickering show of our bright, new future together. Her head rested on my shoulder as she soundly slept to the gentle rocking of the passenger car. We felt freedom. We felt peace.

Liam Neeson Got completely robbed the year that he didn't win best actor for Schindler's List.  Tom Hanks was amazing in Philadelphia, for sure, but he got the Oscar because the academy wanted to recognize the movie for political reasons but couldn't really give it best film or best director.

And Saving Private Ryan was way better than Shakespeare in Love.  Fuck that shit.

I have little use for the Oscars.  They're more about politics, timing, and kissing ass than they are about best anything.

The Oscars are meaningless. Why this, why that...it doesn't matter. The Grammy awards, the Nobel Prize, all that stuff is bullshit. If you feel otherwise you either haven't looked into the awards processes at all, or you are a member of the Academy. These are corrupt organizations to the core, where the ultra privileged get together to award each other with a huge insular circle jerk.

"Circle jerk" is a pretty accurate way to put it.  I don't watch any of those shows anymore.  Of course, it probably doesn't help that I don't really keep up with movies, music, etc.  So it's generally a bunch of stuff that I've never heard of.

Summed up my thoughts as well.

lol the Grammy's.  Joe Satriani nominated like 14 times and never a win, and all the Oscars are is so the movie industry can just pat themselves on the back.
