@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hey Guys,

This is my first post here, Im new to the forums and decided to join because of what I recently found in the wild. I'm really not sure what I have here, it came in a big lot of arcade games that I recently purchased.

My research online so far has lead me to believe its a PCE/TG-16 JAMMA Conversion Kit

I was hoping to find out more and to learn if anyone here has any knowledge of what I've found.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

I also found another board set and controler attachment that has no system attached.
Here are a couple pictures of it.

Oh wow nice find there, especially in da wild
For a good time, reach out to this wily KKKFarm-crankcaller at (780) 717-9274 or Ryleystuartreynolds@gmail.com up in Alberta, Canada!
His last crank-voicemail: "Gimme a call back when you can. This is Ryley by the way... *giggles*"
He then followed it up with 8 WEEKS of ~DAILY calling! BAN ON SIGHT!!!

Thanks, I'm just not sure if they are common or rare...
I'd be interested in selling them and I'd like to know what they are worth.

If anyone has one or has seen one come up before, I'd be really interested in knowing more about it.

Most of the arcade setups I've seen posted were using a PC Engine, not a TG16 so this makes it an interesting find. The PCE ones were done by United Amusments I believe, not sure about this one.

The one from United Amusements has popped up a few times.  They're not worth all that much, maybe $3-400.

This one doesn't look very pro in comparison.  Without some sort of documentation, I'd assume it's unofficial or maybe a prototype for the UA systems.

Cool, thanks for the info guys.

I actually just looked up the United Amusements one.

I'm not sure what these ones I found are... but still cool to know there is something out there.

Maybe I should just take a chance and put it on eBay and see what she goes for.

Rare, certainly, valuable? Probably not. Arcade collectors most likely won't care but you may get some Turbo collectard dumbass to drop $10,000 on it. Many many console collectors are just total morons who will max every credit card on whatever dumb shit they can recognize. What people here have spend on fliers and promo magazines and cardboard boxes defies description so good luck!

The more I look at the pictures the more this looks like it was pulled from a cabinet similar to the one another member here has.  If I remember right (it's been awhile) his had a lot of those molex/quick disconnect connectors and that go to each section (monitor, power, controls, coin mech, etc) and they weren't all off a unified JAMMA connection.

A little info on where/how you found it would be nice to know before you throw it up on ebay.  Like NecroPhile said I think there is some value, but your market is real small considering it is untested as well.

Yeah, if you are willing to hang on to it for a couple weeks, I'd love to do some research and see if it fits in the cab. I won't pay tons for it, but maybe we can work something out. I'm pretty busy for the next couple weeks though.

Jodo Kast

Cool, thanks again for the feedback guys.

I might just sit on it for while and wait to see what it pans out to be. I'm in no rush to dump it.

I just thought it would be interesting piece to post.

I've been collecting since the 90's and I've never seen anything like this before.

@Sadler drop me a PM in a few weeks. I'm easy going.
Maybe we can work something out. I'm open to trades as well.

Cheers

If one simply wants to make a card-only PCE/TG work in a JAMMA cab it's not exactly difficult. This may be easier...or it may be not. You're not getting six buttons out of that thing for one thing so if you want that then you're already going to do some re-wiring. It's also ancient and until we've see it run I wouldn't assume that the credit timer, whatever they use, isn't a total PITA for someone not trying to generate revenue.

A while back a friend of mine had this Dreamcast JAMMA adaptor that was fairly advanced. It had settings of some kind to tell it what game you have. I think it even had maxed save files in it somehow so you'd be able to fight with all the characters in MvC2, for example. In the end it was mostly DOA so we just spent a night doing it by hand.

I have a PC Engine one, there are a few different ones, and yours is more or less the unofficial knock-off one. The 1st series of pics, with the harness, shows it was adapted to work with a TG and to work in a cabinet that may have been giving sync issues because of the +5/-5 line in addition to possibly working in an early or hacked up jamma cab. To use a TG instead of a PCE is really just switching a few wires around. There is a play timer which can be disabled with the dipswitches as well as attract sounds. It is 1 player only but hook a tap up and 2 player works on any 2 player simultaneous game just fine with a regular controller. You can wire 2 player controls thru the jamma harness by hacking a controller up. 6 button is possible on 1 and 2 player if you add some wires. Adjustment pots are for volume, brightness and RGB. I also added turbo switches to mine for both players. You are looking at about $25-$45 tops with no system included. Although uncommon, not really valuable, but cool as hell.

Thanks for all the feedback and info guys. @itsatarp much appreciated.
