Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Hi all,

I'm currently in the market for a reasonably-priced copy of Valis III on the Turbo CD, complete in box. I'd prefer that the box be in decent shape (the better condition, the, well, better), preferably with the inner styrofoam-insert, too.

PM me if you're willing to sell, with price (and pics, if possible). Thanks! :)

Nice first post.  I'm sure you'll be well received.

Welcome aboard, I guess.

Welcome Aboard.  Great game.  very fun.  some tricky platforming, but I enjoy the charm of this entry into the Valis series.  I think the attack and movement are probably the best feeling of the three games.  Great choice and happy gaming with this one.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

Say I do have one. How long will it be before you flip it for profit?

The Bandsaw Vigilante

Anyways, yes, I am genuinely interested in buying a boxed copy of this game (and, no -- I have no intention of flipping it any year soon, here). It's strictly for my personal collection.

ToyMachine78

He'll definitely flip it on Ebay, not here.

No, I've been rebuilding my TG-16 library after many years, and am trying to repurchase several of the CD titles that I used to own -- Valis III being one of the biggies. I have no intention of reselling anything on eBay. Just last night, in fact, I pulled the trigger on a boxed copy of Valis II:

bob

jesus, you must be willing to pay $400 for valis 3

The Bandsaw Vigilante

Well, I've never seen fully-complete, boxed copies going for less than three figures out in the wild, so it is what it is, I guess. A non-boxed copy going for $109.95 just went up yesterday, but I was looking for a reasonably-priced complete copy, if possible.

Are you going to make an unsealing video when you get it?

Welcome to Pcenginefx...  It would help if you post an introduction thread here letting us know a bit about yourself and your history with the TurboGrafx-16.

Generally it's a good idea to get to know people first, spend some time with the community, "lurk moar" before asking for their goods. Also, dig through peoples sales threads. It's not like people here are itching to unload tons and tons of Turbo goods.

Gypsy

I've been sitting on a pile of sealed copies of Valis III, just waiting for a buyer. But no one wants them. :(

esteban

Oh, I saw the other thread first. Hmmmm.... I will try to remain objective... but its not looking promising...

Most old timers of turbo are not willing to spend the current rate of turbo inflated prices. Also, most of us here are not sitting on a mountain of turbo games. Well some are. Esteban mainly.

I had a medical situation some years back during which I needed to sell off part of my collection in order to fully cover the bills (games which were acquired during my middle school/high school years, and across many systems other than Turbografx), and many of those games meant a great deal to me. (Also, I had a certain roommate who was...shall we say...less than scrupulous...about other people's property, and who accounted for another percentage of losses.)

Now that I'm going back and recollecting, I'm finding that the market has skyrocketed in several cases, but for a few games like this one, I can manage it. That's all it is.

geise

I understand that.  Prices have gone up but it's been pretty stable the past few years. Some games affected more than others for turbo. Valis seems to be one of those.  There are ton of lurkers here to make a "deal" so you might luck out. Just know what you're willing to pay. If you've been around turbo a long time you should know how this forum works in regards to new people asking for games that tend to  be on the high side. It's a reason it's good to give an introduction and be active on the forums first. So many deals made for new members over the years only to be abused. Kinda leaves a bad taste in your mouth when the horse has been beaten to death. With that said welcome to the forums. Good luck with the hunt, and sorry to hear about your medical issue.

The Bandsaw Vigilante

Thanks, geise -- I appreciate it! :)

I have a copy of Valis 2 3/8ths ill sell you. Much more rarez than 2 and three. Its CIB. I knew the developer...personally....he mushroom stamped the manual for me as his signature. I got it VGA rated too. They rated it at 1000+ triple platinum.( which is apparently their higest honor ever.) Regardless here's a pic of the cover:

Dont be deterred by the cover looking like massive pig testicles. Its just the motif of the whole game. Ill let it go for $1136 plus international shipping from Mesopotamia. Or ill trade for a Keith Courage HuCard....
