Hello Everyone,

I've been out the PCE loop and inactive on the forum for a couple years.

Long story short, is it possible to mod a Core Grafx (i or II) with a switch to play both Turbo and PCE Hucards? Are there any recommendations where to have the mod done?

Thanks!

Keith Courage

Yes It is possible. I do this for $60. There are a few other members here who offer this service as well although I'm not sure who else is active on the forums these days who also does modding.

Yeah, there are at least ~4 active modders to get something like that done.

* Keith Courage, very active lately. - Ha, he posted before me! ;)

* thesteve, the best of the best if you can afford it (he's available for business, I just asked).

* Jodi "Brraap" Whetham, The Good: BitHead1000 christened him the "Mad Scientist" of Mods/Repros/CustomCrafts/etc. He's gotten very frighteningly impressive!! Here's an example of what I mean (Source, his FB group). The Bad/Ugly: He's in Canada, you're not, as such, shipping costs back'n'forth will be terrible, so last resort option.

* turbokon my PCE "turbro!" Might be too busy lately though as he got hired on as a stuntman, currently on set working on movies these days! Can also be reached by his "bidness" website at http://www.tg16pcemods.com

Of course, you could just buy a Turbo Everdrive flashcart instead for a little more money, then just throw the whole NEC ROM collection on it, flip the region switch to JP, and BOOM, you're 100% ready to go (Your real HuCards can remain well-preserved shelf eye candy)! That's my recommendation. Save the mod money for something like YPbPr/Component video output instead. :)
