Suggestion: More Rules

I really like all these new rules! I think they are great! The legalese really makes me happy, I love having to read and comprehend something comparable to an act of congress just to post about video games.

Can we get some new moderators too? I don't feel safe to discuss video games on the Internet unless there are plenty of people watching me to make sure that I rigidly stay on topic and don't end up talking about orange juice because orange juice is very nutritious with a very mellow taste.

Also: more bannings. There should be a button on the top of the page you can press (preferably made by a Japanese manufacturer) that will ban a random person for 90 days.

I think we should enforce computer chips to be implanted inside of users so mods can keep track of them at all times.

You know, I like that suggestion! There is no problem cybernetics can't fix!

I would like to make a little modification, however. I think it should be possible to induce an electric shock into the appropriate part of the cerebellum to correct their behavior when they misbehave. Especially when they incorrectly use these words: android, cyborg, and robot.

That reminds me the rules should definitely include a definition of androids, cyborgs, and robots for useful reference to new users. It certainly couldn't hurt!

The arrogant elitism of n-g.com already exists here now. After all, people can't just register and post anymore. You have to be vetted by the politburo before you can post. Not to mention the double standards: Joe and nat can go off-topic all they want, but Kitsune can't?

speaking not as a mod but as a member- slightly off topic and adding some much needed humor is one thing- but constantly posting off topic pics of dead animals, profanely abusing and sexually harassing other members, threatening other members, pleading to get banned, not even being a pc-engine fan, constantly trying to pick fights with mods and constantly using fonts 1/3rd the size of the screen are all parts of why Kits probably got banned.

This is not me kissing up to the mods for some obscure reason- this is just logical, self-evident stuff.

What about a member who was a Turbo fan and made dedicated Turbo threads, but posted simple (yet on topic) images on threads and would make two sentence threat posts as a response if someone pissed him off? Did Kitsune really deserve more chances than Validus?

Yes. Please tell me why Turbo Player needed to be banned. I guess we aren't allowed to discuss Bloody Wolf. I think this should be added to the rules, it is a good thing.

Overreacting to the point of being pissed-off which would then bring on said tirades, plagiarizing another person's work and continuing to be a fool about it when asked to desist, being the biggest post whore seen since christ was a pup and being incredibly and irritatingly corny plus the notoriety of bans across the internet are all parts of why Validus probably got banned.

? I'm pretty sure half of my posts are corny (well cheesy would be a better way to put it)! Kitsune also had a ban record before joining here.

I'm not necessarily standing up for Validus, but I think it's stupid that he barely had a chance to post here while Kitsune got off the hook numerous times. I doubt Validus' short and silly attacks effected anyone, especially compared to Kitsune's page long temper tantrums. Validus was also one of the few people here that actually made Turbo related posts too.

One of the few? Last I checked, the vast majority of the active users here (read: 99.9%) make Turbo-related posts on a daily basis. As it stands now, Xiphas is the only active member that springs to mind that doesn't participate in Turbo-related discussions.

It's a moot point though because participating in Turbo discussions isn't a requirement of membership.

Following the rules is, however, and now that Aaron has laid those out clearly in every forum let's all make sure we're making an effort to abide. You would think most of this stuff would be common sense & courtesy, but judging by recent events, apparently it is not.

A great place to start would be not creating garbage threads in Aaron's section of the board. Thanks.

Also, I love ya, Mike (especially your D-Lite threads, they were what originally brought me here), but don't you think it is really bad to be giving people's addresses away on the forums? That is clearly more heinous than anything Valdius or Kitsune has done. ADD THAT TO THE RULES STAT!

Since this is about everyone chiming in with their opinions- I will keep firing off my own. Keranu- I don't think it's any SINGLE one of those things that got Validus a nice hammer smash- but as I said they "are all parts of why Validus probably got banned". Also you saying he wasn't here long is another point in favor of his banning- for he was acting up with all that stuff as soon as he joined- he would've been much worse as soon as he got all cozy. Most new members come in and act respectful and start to get a feel for how things work- Validus just jumped in and instantly started acting like a blooming idiot. Was probably a good idea to nip it in the bud before he became 10x as bad. Again- you can't take each point about Validus's probable banning apart and compare each point to separate members- it's the WHOLE of those points that probably got him banned- not just one thing. I'm also sure there's more reasons than the ones listed- I haven't been here long as most can attest to- these are just things I noted with a casual eye.

I personally think you guys have done an excellent job considering. This is the last bastion of a forgotten empire- and it is trying to maintain some dignity. Other consoles of the age don't need a forum like this dedicated to expanding a fanbase or educating- especially concerning fanbases in the States. Genesis and NES are still and will always be spoken about in reverence by massive throngs of gamers. Running a tight ship here is the least Aaron and you guys can do to successfully write further pages in a forgotten system's history.

Sorry Keranu but I have to add this as well- concerning you wondering why Kits got off the hook so many times- wasn't that under your watch? Joe and Nat haven't been mods for long, have they?

Perhaps that is partial reason why Aaron felt it necessary to add more mods. The board expanding drastically- one mod alone can't keep track of all that stuff.

Keranu, there is nothing constructive about this thread in any way, shape or form. It is currently serving as channel for Xiphas's trolling and a medium for unneccessary (and unwanted) discussion.

We don't need anyone's "views" on the people that have been banned. People made their views quite clear during the membership tenures of said banished individuals (which is ultimately why those guys got banned). They were banned for a reason, and we don't need to hold PCEngineFX town meetings to rehash what everybody feels about them.

So far I have seen zero (0) serious suggestions here of any beneficial nature. If someone wants to create a serious thread about the rules, so be it. As of right now, I am again locking this thread and if it comes unlocked one more time I will simply delete it.
