Necros No Yousai Questions

I recently received a copy of this game, and have a question.  When the scene chages with text, or a bank of text comes up all at once it "tears".  This doesn't happen when the slow speech segements, only when big blocks show up at once, and complete scene shifts.  Is this normal, or do have have a bad copy?  I have cleaned the contacts, and am sure it is seated properly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That doesn't happen in Magic Engine and I don't remember anything like that when playing it on HuCard.

What do you mean by "tears"?

Hard to describe...like where the white border, and the words are for a second or so looks like tv static, then stops.
