RIP to BT Garner of MindRec.com... BT passed away early 2023 from health problems. He was one of the top PCE homebrew developers and founder of the OG Turbo List, then PCECP.com. Condolences to family and friends.

Once again I lose my bookmark on this thread and now things seem dire. What's going on with MSR as of now, Rovie?

ParanoiaDragon

Just waiting for touch up's on the esponal version, I think he might have someone else handle it IIRC?

That and Rovie has been especially (and annoyingly) emo lately.  Poor old feller...

Emo? :P

By the way... we're tired of waiting for him to come around. My wife is going to personally see to the corrections today. After she's done, it'll be given a final build and test run by myself (UGH and it's gonna take three tests) and that'll be the end of it. It will be off to press in a couple of days, provided we can get teh money moved around quick enough. Shouldn't be a problem.

Have you ever had a song that you really, really liked... but you heard it played on the radio so many times that it became irritating? Imagine that song being played nonstop for the next three months, and you're forced to listen to every second of it after you're already irritated with it. That's how I now feel about this game.

That is truly horrid. I know exactly what you mean :(

Now, just to clarify, you are shipping the game in Esperanto as well, correct?

:)

I want to pre-order this game too but I need to know the following.

1. The original creator of this game, Whats up with that person, in all of this?

2. What is the game going to be released in? A double CD case, with front, back art, and instructional manual including spine card?

Hi Rover,

Has the french version been betatested to insure everything's alright ingame ? I had sent the translation to you around january 2011 (plus the last strings you'd provided a couple of months ago) and was wondering if people had tested/played with the translated script implemented, in order to check if everything was fine (mistakes and such).

Flat fact, I do not want no rubber soft, Gamecube, PS2,
DVD cases. I don't care how thick it is. No crappy cardboard crease nonsense boxes either,

It could be giant over sized CD cases like the ones from China. Seriously Chinese DVD, and VCD has some auwsome cases, with extra nice paper. Within the boxes the CD's are in regular sqaure cases. I can't believe it.

Even regular CD cases, like the PCE game uses is just fine and dandy also.

How many people do you know with glass mastering and disc stamping machines in their garage?  A cd is a cd is a cd regardless of who stamped it, and simple jewel cases are a dime a dozen.

Also it does matter to what CD a person use, because overtime CD's become unusable, when not stored correctly. Even then errors might pop up.

A quick update: I had sent a message along to the original translator, reminding him that we still hadn't gotten the remaining corrections. He finished the work up, and I just picked it up. I haven't looked at the changed text just yet, but judging from the first two submissions, this should only take a couple of hours to fix. Once those changes are made to the script, it's finished... literally. Finished. Done. Ready to go. It'll likely be shipped off to Texas next Monday, provided no more last-minute surprises pop up.

I'd also like to know the name of the replicator, considering that just a few years ago no one on the planet was willing/able to do the appropriate format.  Why the secrecy?

And yes, I know where some of my CD's were pressed.

I am beginning to believe that the "unpressable" bit was actually a ruse to deter others from making new games. It will most certainly not be the first time someone from the "old guard" used deception to discourage newcomers from stealing their thunder.

That is some pricey shit there. I hope you fellas will at least break even on what your putting into this project. Be nice to see ya turn a profit to help with future projects.

Arkhan Asylum

Pressing was never impossible in the first place.

We made Insanity at 4am on a clunker dinosaur machine with a SCSI CD burner that took like 4903 hours to burn.  If the fuckin CD-R boots in a real turbo grafx CD, a replicated one will do the same.  It's a replica.  There is no "format".

A replication machine literally clones the disc.  So if you, the programmer/cd burner can do it right, they can do it right.

anyone who says otherwise, you're dumb.

Mishran: It's actually low for their replication.  I used Nationwide disc to press Insanity.  It's proof they deliver teh shitz.

Insanity cost a little over 1000$ to replicate.

I've used www.discmakers.com a couple of times in the past and have been surprised at how well they communicated the status of your project and how quickly it was completed.  The end product looked great as well.  I've used them for replicating DVDs in the past.  I've had the [sarcasm]pleasure[/sarcasm] of working with a number of other replicators that left much to be desired; these guys I liked.

I've since bought a Microboards CX-1 , so most of my replication is done in-house now.  It's a burned disc, though, which wouldn't be ideal for the Turbo Community.
