@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Last year, my fascination & appreciation for the Castlevania series went into high gear, especially with the release of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood on the Virtual Console. And, with my recent hunger for many things Castlevania, I also acquired four Castlevania figures that were released from the highly-detailed action figure company, NECA. These were Simon Belmont, Dracula, Alucard & Succubus.

But, my fix was not quite sated, since my favorite Belmont was Richter, the hero from Rondo of Blood, and this figure was never ever made. Some custom jobs had been done in the past (some quite good), but a figure was never commercially made and sold. So, after scouring around for some old figures & elements to use, and using a bit of my modeling know-how, I attempted to instead...make my own Richter Belmont figure.

And here is how it went..

*Credits include:

- Konami, for creating one of the greatest video game franchises in history, Castlevania, and for proving that great men can topple monsters, and purge them from this world (using only a whip).

- Toru Hagihara, for helping to bring "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood" to the world.

- Mikio Saito, for his score from "Castlevania: Rondo of Blood", which served as background music throughout this whole project.

- NECA for inspiring me to make this figure with their own 4 figures, whose weapons and items are conveniently the same scale for Richter to "borrow" on his own "adventures".

- McFarlane toys for creating the Prince Dastan figure, based on the same character from the motion picture "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", which served as my main base.

- Tamiya paints, abrasives, modeling putty.

- Madora's award-winning sanding skills, as well her loving support, help & encouragement throughout this project.

- Mediplast for their medical tape.

In case you're wondering, I did consider sanding off the beard details for a more cleaner-shaven Richter.

But, I think the slight beard, added straps & such all fit into that "if-it-were-to-be-made-into-a-figure-it-would-probably-look-like-this" kind of thing. Kind of like how the other NECA figures have a few refinements & additions. Plus, on the beard, if you'd be jumping around in a castle filled with monsters, I think you'd have less time for shaving. Hahaha! So I kept it on. Artistic license, I guess. :)

*Oh, and one of my favorite features of this figure?
If you squeeze his legs, his right hand lunges forward. So he can freakin' whip the Vampire Killer!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!

Thanks for sharing; that's pretty neat, especially the whipping action.  Next up - Maria!

Thanks NecroPhile!

I wish! Actually, I'm keeping my eye out for any Nendroid figures that have common elements to Maria's dress. There are so many that look similar, but none yet that nail them at at least 80% Maria-looking. But they did release a "Symphony of the Night" Maria Renard figure (green clothes), and it's pretty nice. It costs some bucks though. :)
