So I decided to break down and get a new HOP-M3 laser in case I need it.  I ordered it on Monday.  I got an email replay back yesterday stating that they were "on backorder with no ETA"  So I wanted to start a topic and ask around here.  Who here has recently orered one in the past month or so?  I am wanting to know how long they have been "out of stock"  Their page doesn't ever list anything as in or out of stock, so you just have to hope they have it when you order.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Ha, I had a KSS-220A "on backorder" Since January.  They just sent me an email canceling my order, since they aren't ever going to get one.  They are a good company, but "backorder" means you most likely should look elsewhere, like the link DD listed.
Another douche trying to obtain a full Turbo collection.  119/146 so far.  Got a long way to go. Half way there. Hit the 100 mark. ich bein ein obeyer

There are some overseas suppliers that can still get these on the cheap.  If anyone wants to get in on a bigger purchase of multiple lasers, we can get them for about $19 each.  Anyone interested, shoot me a PM.  We'd need to order at least 21 lasers.

So do these things work on all duos? Curious thats all...

The US and JPN Duo, the JPN Duo-R and RX all use this laser.  The super CDROM2 uses a HOP-M3A which is different, and the CD add ons use a sony KSS-162a or KSS-220a.

I'll need to keep that laser in mind. Once I get a Duo-R I want to get one of these while I can to hold on to as a back up. :)

Yeah well that guy in that ebay link is Liberty Electronics.  They are the only other place here in the states that I have seen online selling these lasers.  He sells them through his online store, through ebay, and through Amazon.  He marks them up a couple bucks on Amazon.  His ebay auctions are the same price as his online store $25.15, with a BIN or "Best Offer"  I offered him $21  bucks and he counter offered $25.00.  A whopping 15 cents less than his BIN.  So I then offered him $19.  I also find it funny that there's one more person on ebay that's a new seller, also in Miami, FL (like Liberty Electronics) and selling a HOP-M3 laser for the same exact price.  It's not a bad price  but after that lame counter offer I think I might just order from some place else.  I am also going to cancel my order with Electronix since it sounds like they are never going to restock them.  Thanks for that link though Dan and thanks guys for the info.

Is there any reason that these would go bad just sitting in my closet?  If not, count me in for a pair for whenever my blazing lazers shit the bed.
