So I bought as PCE Street Fighter 2 a month or two ago and it has been working great.  I go to play it today only to find it it doesn't work anymore.  I just get a pink/purple screen of death.  Other Hu cards work fine it's just Street Fighter.  I am using an original PCE Duo so it's not a compatibility concern.

I have no clue how to repair a Hu card.

Any tips for me?

Thanks so much.

Try giving the contacts a good cleaning with a que tip and rubbing alcohol or eraser.
Turbo fan since 1991 after owning my first system.

If cleaning doesn't help, try inserting it fully then pulling it out slightly (1 mm or so) and powering it on.

I tired cleaning it with Alcohol and the 1mm trick with no luck so far.

When you guys say to use a "eraser" you mean a Magic Eraser and not a pencil eraser right?

Thanks for all the help so far and keep those tips coming :)

The only hu-card I have that works on and off is SF2.  Not sure if it is due to the thick card or what, but it can't be coincidence.

Something of last resort to try is to put a piece of tape or two on the underside of the card along where the pins sit. I have one game where the card is slightly warped and it needs some tape underneath it to push the pins up in order to make a good connection.

They are talking about one of those pink wedge type erasers, not magic eraser.

Yeah, never underestimate the power of the Pink Eraser. Removed grime and gunk like no other!
END OF LINE.

I have a huey that wont play unless I apply a little bit of pressure to the card after sliding it in. I ended up folding up a small piece of paper and sliding it in at the base when inserting the card so I wont have to press down on it the whole time.

I cleaned it with a eraser and did the 1mm trick and I got it working.  I think there is something wrong with my PCE Hu card slot.  the audio on all my Hu games sounds awful, scratchy and distorted.  The CD sounds good though.  All the caps were replaced a few months ago so I know that's not the problem.  The volume is fine it's the sound of the actual games.

Also I have to fiddle with the 1mm trick to get all my Hu cards to work now.

Try applying a healthy amount of rubbing alcohol with a Q-tip to the contacts on a hu card. Then insert and remove from system a good 10 times or so to see if the system just needed cleaning.

I did that and now the game starts up great but the sound issues are still there.
