Can I use my S-Video modded TG-16 with the CD dock?

Hey there!

I have my Turbo modded with S-Video and I was wondering if I can run the Turbo CD with the S-Video?  I was going to attach the CD Unit with power supply and then I would skip the A/V and run my S-Video and audio from the headphone jack using a 3.5mm headphone to stereo cable.

My S-Video jack is right next to the headphone jack so I don't think the CD unit would block any of the ports.

Would this work?

Yeah, you can use the s-video from the tg16 but you still need sound from dock. Sound from the turbo only output sound processed by the tg16 so you won't get adpcm and cd tracks as those are process by the dock.

So I'll just run the Sound part of the AV from the dock to the T.V and don't plug in the video part of the RCA cables?

Sweet!  I've just scored myself a CD set up so this is perfect :)

Awesome, I also added s-video and an earphone jack to both TG16 & pce and I'm currently working on a YPrPb pcb using thesteve design.  Another thing, you will need to tap the sound from the opt amp to get loud sound when only using the TG16 with the earphone jack.

I didn't mod the thing unfortunately.  I wish I was that talented.  A locale board member modded it for me.  He even added a led to the Turbografx logo so it lights up when it is on.  It's pretty sweet :)

Congratulazioni on the CD, i was really considering getting it but had to hold back.

PS. Just so you know, there is a swap meet in Kitchener on May 5th from 1-4pm, not too far from the mall
Looking for TG16 games I don't have already.

Thanks man!  I am so happy I can combine your sweet mods with a CD set up.

I'll keep my calender open for May 5th.  I'd really like to go to one of these meet ups :)
