Can anyone tell me if these chips are interchangeable between the us systems and pce systems?? I'm thinking they might have some different arrangement because of the 8 data pins from the hucards are reversed?

I think the data pin issue is a pure layout thingens, not?
Anything else would surprise me the deepest.

Seriously?

AFAIK, just the traces on the board are routed differently.
Why would Hudson produce 2 different runs of the chips, especially with the costs of getting a die made, etc?

I'm doing some continuity test on a tg16 using the following charts and I'm not getting continuity for the said data pins to hu6280 corresponding pins. Maybe they got the pins numbering wrong.

The signal numbering seems to vary among people, depending on what they are using to check them.
Are you getting continuity between D0 at the chip, and D0 at the connector?
How about from D0 at the chip to D7 at the connector?

If all else fails, check continuity between the chip and the back connector.
That should let you sort out what signals are which on both ends.

I found that the 8 data pins is reversed to the corresponding hu6280 pins according to the chart.
