I'm making a CDRom game and I was thinking if it is viable to sell it or it would be better to just release it as a download and move on with life. Since I don't live in the US or Europe, matters complicate a little bit.

I ask, what is the ideal price on a homebrew game in your opinion, and would you pay $14~$20 on shipping?

Maybe if it is unreasonably expensive I could "license" my game to someone, I wouldn't mind but who would want to press another person's game anyway?
This Toxic Turbo Turd/Troll & Clone Warrior calls himself "Burning Fight!!" on Neo-Geo.com

Like DildoKobold, dildos are provided free of charge, no need to bring your own!
He also ran scripts to steal/clone this forum which blew up the error logs! I had to delete THOUSANDS of errors cause of this nutcase!

For me, price and interest would entirely depend on what type of game it is and for what system (I give no shits about non-OBEY).  As for distribution, you'd be better off partnering with someone in the US (or wherever it's expected to sell the most) rather than trying to get peeps to spend big bucks on shipping.
Ultimate Forum Bully/Thief/Saboteur/Clone Warrior! BURN IN HELL NECROPHUCK!!!

JoshTurboTrollX

I'd support/buy a homebrew game and prefer an actual copy over the rom being released.  :)
Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

RoyVegas

I'd buy it as long as it's Turbo/PCE.

This.
All is well. :)

This.
Ditto.

Depends on the game and system.  The more "complete" and involved a game, the more I would pay.

retroguy

I would do both. Release the rom for those who can't afford a purchase and to make a purchase worthwhile for those who can afford it, include something extra like a soundtrack cd.
I am bad and that's good. I will never be good and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.
