I was wondering if some knowledgeable people could suggest a few good english friendly PCE games for me to start with? The topic has been discussed a few times, but people seem to have varying opinions on how english friendly something has to be, so I'm going to outline some qualifications beforehand.

So here are the qualifications for me:
1) Game has to be PCE (Hu or CD), with not imported American counterpart
2) Without a guide, I should be able to figure out the controls and combat
3) The language barrier shouldn't make the game more difficult. (Like an RPG where I was given a clue how to proceed, but since I couldn't understand it, I took much longer to figure out where to go)
4) The general gist of the story should be apparent with no knowledge of Japanese.

Looking forward to trying out this region mod on my DUO so suggest away :D

I'll recommend the game series that got me into the PCE scene, the Valis games (I to IV).

Yeah and why is this in the sale forum?

Anyway, here's the Definitive List:
Power League 4: THE MOST ENGLISH-FRIENDLY POWER LEAGUE GAME EVER! FUUUUUKKKKKKK!
Wizardry 1-5: people say these games are English friendly. Those people are liars. Sure, you can read the menus, but if you encounter something and need to know a clue or what just happened, you're FUUUUCCCKKKKKKKEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!

There is a thread  kind of like this already, but I wouldn't really call a lot of the games suggested english friendly. So I thought a new thread with some guidelines about what makes a game english friendly would benefit some people, like me, who are new to the PCE and want to know a good place to start!

Its in the sale thread because I have fat fingers and was trying to do this on my phone and didn't notice it was in the wrong place :/
