So this past Saturday (4/26/14) i received a text message from my mom, telling me that Steely Dan is coming to Phoenix on July 15th. I was super excited because I love Steely Dan, and they are one of the bands i truly wanted to see live. So i told my Girlfriend about it, she got online and bought 4 tickets, 1 for me, my brother, my mom, and herself.

My g/f Tanya told me the tickets were $102 a piece. I thought that was a good price for them so i told her to buy them. After i purchased the tickets, i was hit with service fees that were not in the transaction until after the purchase was made. These service fees turned out to be about $25 per ticket. I was pretty upset after this, so i looked up the site, and what i found just pissed me off.

The site tries to portray itself as something legit, and its not, they are scalpers who buy tons of tickets than over charge. I read countless complaints about this site online. (i feel so stupid for buying these tickets). After reading all this bad news, i hopped on my bank account (BOA) and had a chat session with a rep. The transaction for the tickets was still pending (this was only about 1 hour after the tickets were purchased) I had the BOA rep cancel the transaction.

I then went online to the actual official site and purchased tickets which were better seats, and they were much cheaper. With service fee they came out to be $96. I was happy and though i dodged a bullet on this one. Well This morning comes around and i check my account, and those fuckers at Official-online tickets charged me again for the tickets i canceled. So i contacted my bank and started a claim. I'm really hoping that my bank can take care of this. I don't want to be out an extra $500+ for this shit.

I'm posting this here just to vent a bit, and to see if you guys have any recommendations on handling this issue. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link for the site. When i saw it i knew it was BS. I wish i would have looked into when my g/f was buying the damn tickets !!!

When did ticketmaster change their name?

Your bank should fix it up, seeing as they either fucked up in allowing a canceled transaction to be completed or the assclowns fraudulently submitted a second charge.  Shit like this is why I always use a credit card (fuck debit cards), as it's one hell of a lot easier to dispute a charge you've yet to pay than it is to get money back after it's left your account already.

according to an email i received. the tickets are being shipped now. I should have them today. The Claims person at BOA advised me if i receive anything to send it back, and get a tracking number with it. so they can't say they didnt receive it

Or you could just sell them to some chucklefuck on Craigslist.

YES!  BOA is a shit show. But regardless, once you put the number in on your own accord, the bank rarely sides with you. I guarantee the original rep didnt "cancel" the transaction as they may have led you on.
Its all about getting you off the phone quickly. You may be swallowing this one, but i truly hope you are able to work it out.
BOA suggested you ship them back, but did they say as long as the shipper gets the tix back, they will reverse the charge?
Sometimes banks and CC companies will give you one "good faith" reversal as long as you have remained in good standing, but again...it is BOA, so it can go either way.

use a credit card from now on.  fraud claims are much easier.

That unfortunately seems like the best thing you can do. Sucks that was such a pain in the ass. But thanks for the heads up on this site though, never heard of it and will now never use it
