10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Been thinking of buying a PC Engine since many more games were released on it then what was brought over for the TurboGrafx 16. Im trying to see what are the must haves for the console on turbo chip only not CD. I have a TurboGrafx 16 already and was thinking of adding a PC Engine to the collection. Prices for the system dont seem to be too expensive but maybe i havent done enough searching thanks

Here's a question.   What genre of games are you into?  If you love shooters then the pc-engine is definitely the system for you.  There's also a great amount of action/platform, rpg, and puzzle games though.  Also, since you're looking into HuCard's only at the moment here's a small list that others I'm sure can easily expand on.

Soldier Blade
Super Star Soldier
Final Soldier
Override
PC Denjin
PC Genjin 1-3
Aoi Blink
Legendary Axe 1-2
R-Type I-II
Ninja Spirit
Bomberman I, 93, and 94
Devil Crash
Alien Crush
Dungeon Explorer
Gunhed
Download
Nectaris (you'll want the US version of this Military Madness)
Momotaro Katsugeki
Parasol Stars The Story of Bubble Bobble III
Parodius
Detana!! Twin Bee
Don Doko Don
Doraeman- Meikyu Daisakusen (I prefer the US version Crater Maze)
Dragon Spirit
Dragon Saber
Note: Never ever buy Xevious
Street Fighter II Champion Edition
Splatterhouse

The thing is no CD games first and also im looking for Japanese PC Engine games so if there was an American release of the game then there is no need to list it

majors

The Konami Hu's: Gradius, Salamander, TwinBee and Parodius.

Street Fighter 2 CE, great port and cheap.

Dragon Saber is a gem also.
TG/PCE Collection.
"Booze should be a choice, not a privilege" -KCDC (The FP)

F U. Mahjong is awesome!

To original poster, all my games in that list are all pc-engine HuCards.

Pick up Jinmu Densho its pretty cheap. think space harrier but extremely brutal learning curve. still a very fun game. slows down quite a bit though
