Ghost Manor is basically "Turbo Wizards & Warriors". Just like the NES game, you have to learn how it works and not play it like it's some other stereotypical game. Like too many games, it gets a bad rap for things that popular "classic" games do. But because it's not published by the right company for the right console, it gets dismissed as garbage while games with similar issues continue to be worshipped as "legendary".

Protip: the best tutorial for Ghost Manor is clearing the first stage of Wizards & Warriors.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

he already got a neg feedback on the first one he "sold".  feedback reads "Bought item shortly after it was listed, seller said they lost it, issued refund"  Lost my *ss.  Seller's remorse or misplaced decimal point on listing are my guesses, but I have no idea about the other 2 he "sold"

Well, the seller says he shipped a game I purchased (not Tonma) with a tracking number.  I'll see if I have something to share for December, or a buyer protection claim.

Mine was no deal, I paid fair market.

I feel for the buyer that lost out on the first auction for Tonma.  Reminds me of a great auction I won in the past, only to have the seller say 'they tested it during a thunderstorm, lightening hit, and the machine and game smoked.'  Yea right.  I'm with NecroPhile, real pessimistic that Tonma was the instant ebay troll find of the year.

At least it still has the manual, which (I have learned) is uncommon for the later releases with cardboard boxes and plastic trays.  I hope reproductions of the front covers of these 21 releases become available to the community someday as an inexpensive lot.  The demand is certainly there; at least right now we have pdf copies of some of the manuals to reprint.

Well I just got a Quickshot Python 4 for the TG. Jumped on it largely just because I didn't know it existed until I saw it and the aftermarket controller scene for TG is so bare. Not much I can actually use it for I know where it's better than the pad, though I could see using it on Galaga and a few others.

Was 25$ for it and Falcon 2.0 together. Made me smile to think someone had this as a pair from childhood as a flight simulator.

NecroPhile

Heh, I snagged one of those quickshots back in the day because it was only $5 new, and I still feel ripped off.

I'll admit I'm a sucker for accessories. The more third party and weird the more intrigued I am somehow. And the Turbo has so little!

Not sure why I thought Falcon had a 2.0 designation, the seller didn't list it like that...I must be thinking of the PC series!

Is that a box protector on it too?  I never really understood the new trend towards box protectors in the hobby.  Do they help warped paper boxes become more square again?

Then again, I also never understood keeping the shrinkwrap on a game after it's opened.  I always ripped and tossed.

yes its a box protector and it's basically to keep the boxes looking their best and protecting it from shelf wear, dust, moist and makes the box look better. its different than having a game sealed and i dont keep my games sealed but i put them in a box protector so they can stay in the mint shape that they are

You know, that is a once in a lifetime ebay event to come out with that lot.  Congratulations, really!  It went to a good home, someone that will enjoy it, and a member of the forums to boot.  I almost want to start to put together one of the early CD units myself, if not for my TurboDuo making the pull to spend the money for one almost zero.  Still, the hardware collector in me wants one and the urge has not left yet.

I'm much more interested in hardware than software. For me, since I got an Everdrive I don't have as much interest in picking up hueys. At the moment I'm mostly going for CD games, which I could burn...

I've bought enough recently to satiate myself for a long time. When I get the itch, the next two systems I want to put together are a Core Grafx II with a Super CDROM2 and a "frankenbob": PAL TG, TG Dock, PCE CDROM.

TG-16 purchases for December!

IMG
https://i1093.photobucket.com/albums/i430/ifkz/IMAG0451_zps0f8dc4f1.jpg

This month had a lot more purchases than I thought possible, so to jump right into my mini-reviews:

1. BoxyBoy - Here is a unique and under appreciated puzzler that I found I really enjoyed.  The puzzles are well thought out, the graphics are better than I expected, and the game even uses the save capabilities of the TurboBooster Plus and/or the Duo.

2.  Coryoon - another of Chop5's reproductions.  I guess I could have the same thing with a Turbo Everdrive, but I bought it anyhow.  Am I crazy ?  I have not purchased a Turbo Everdrive yet..not sure if I will in the future.  Anyhow, it is a fantastic shooter, a well known import that reminds me of Air Zonk.  Fun, fun, fun game.

3.  Psychic Storm - another good shooter that turned up on my short list of English friendly imports.  Great soundtrack, solid shooting action, a must have reasonably priced import.

4.  Shubibinman 3 - Thanks go to 'The Brothers Duomazov' for their glowing recommendation of the sequel to the US HuCard Shockman.  Just as crazy at the review says, with great graphics and a reasonable difficulty level too.  A chance find on the 'bay.

It's been a big month for me.
Picked up a region modded Duo from Keith Courage.
Got Alien Crush from jtucci31.
Traded Desh Mario paint for Bonks adventure.
Neo nectaris is on the way from bluebmw.
I also got lords of the rising sun and cosmic fantasy 2 from Keith courage.
And finally, I also have ninja spirit and sidearms on the way.

I'm so excited to finally have Lords of the rising sun again. It, and Vasteel, are the main reasons I decided to get back into the Turbo "scene".

Well after several dry months of not uncovering any new Obey .. I get a facebook message out of the blue.  Local collector saw a comment where I alluded to my retro collections main focus being TG16 and PCE.  Informs me he has a TG16 CD-Rom addon he'd be willing to part with.  Having seen alot of beat up, loose, needing repair units I advised him to send me some photos, and a ballpark price.  I didn't wait around for the photos, but when I checked the next morning it was a boxed TG16 CD-Rom addon   Well, now he has my attention.  Box looks to be ~7/10, but he gives a backstory that the unit itself was found in a warehouse that use to give out promotional items. So he said despite wear and tear from being moved around all these year, the internal contents are mint .. and that he believes the system has never been used. So anyway, this is what I picked up. I included photos taken during the unboxing as it really does appear this has never been used. The content are indeed very very clean. I am a very very happy Obey-er at this point.

It came with 4 CD games (Exile, Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective, Buster Bros. , and Neo Nectaris). Assuming seller came by this via other means as they were not sealed, and Neo Nectaris is missing manual.

Alittle look around the backside .. thinking I can gently remove some of these light marks. Will leave it for now however.

Now some unboxing.  Styrofoam and baggie all very clean and minty.

Carrying case is minty .. small plastic is still over the TG16 logo (resisting urge to peel it off)

Again .. all styrofoam, packaging is mint.  Really starting to believe this was never sold at retail or used.

Not a scratch or scuff on the main deck .. clean, clean, clean  (Obey porn!)

These have been opened before, but also look unused.  Anyone know if there where suppose to be any other inserts with this when new ?

I'm very pleased with this find.  This was something I never got to purchase new as a teenager.  I recall going into my local Radio Shack and looking at it, but was a young teenager and just didn't have the funds to grab one.

In my travels as an adult, not something I've come across.  Occasionally seeing various loose, in poor to good condition. So had to jump at this when the opportunity arose.
