@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

I have recently acquired a Super CDROM 2 to go with my SuperGrafx console, but of course, the jumper power cord which comes with the Super CDROM 2 fits to a PC Engine, not to a SuperGrafx.  I see this one for sale in Hong Kong for $7.00 + $4.55 shipping, but I was wondering if anyone knew a better/cheaper place to get one?  Or maybe someone has an extra one?  If my memory serves me correctly, it seems that retrogamecave.com used to sell this a while back, but he has closed up shop for now.

I think this should work.  I have a few and have been meaning to make sure everything still lines up correctly.  If I remember, I will try to test it tomorrow.

You are correct. Same size as a DUO plug. I have a number of these. I'll just hand one to you when I pick up that DUO you need repaired.

mickcris

cool. wasn't sure that the original cable was long enough for that to be attached too and if it would fit in the super cdrom's cutout.

Keith Courage

hmmm, welll I'm not too sure about the cut out. I just know the tip will fit and work with the supergrafx.

I forgot i took mine apart to recap.  maybe ill finish that up tomorrow and put it back together to test to see if that will fit.

if not, i can make one for the OP for cheaper than gamedrhk.  I have some of each of those sizes in my parts box.  should be under $5 shipped.

I threw it back together (as much as needed) to test and it works.  So no need to get another cable.  Just use one of those adapters.

Dont laugh at my super yellowed super cdrom [-X

I actually did not have the size that plugs into the super cdrom anyways.  I thought it was a 4.75 x 1.7 but its a little bigger than that.

Sheesh, what happened to that poor lil guy?  Did he get stranded out in the Gobi desert for a couple months?

It must have been from a Godzilla attack.  I think he gives off UV radiation.

Got to retrobright that shit!

mickcris

Looks like somebody urinated on that poor SCD repeatedly. Give it a wipe, will you?

By the way, I'd like to see a top-down-shot of both pieces of hardware being attached together, just out of interest.

Careful using retro bright on those gray super CD drives. I tried it once and some of the gray color actually turned too white in some spots making things look all splotchy and uneven. Same can be said for the Gray core grafx game pads as well.

Never had a problem using retro bright on any other NEC systems thus far and I've been doing it for a couple years now.

Oh! That's a nice trick!

I have a SGX and SCDROM^2 and I had on my TODO to cut the default cable to extend it. The adapter trick is more elegant and less destructive... So this particular one works perfectly fine? (juts confirming before ordering one)

Yeah. It's the right one.

Same thing happened to one of my SuFami's.  Stupid me left the grey inner part of the case on and it was ruined.  It sucks that we cannot buy liquid peroxide in large quantities in my country.  All I've found is a 200ml bottle and that is about $7.

As for the SG+SCD2 combo, it's quite hideous looking, but I am looking forward to having it in my collection :p
