I never heard of this before.

It is a kindred spirit of RVGS.

I was very excited about it until I saw this:

"Those coded sound waves are then used to unlock access to content that's stored in the cloud"

FUCK YOU. This would be perfect if not for that little detail. Actually come to think about it, no it wouldn't. Who the hell plays retro games in a cellphone, specially with something that bulky plugged in the headphone jack?
This Toxic Turbo Turd/Troll & Clone Warrior calls himself "Burning Fight!!" on Neo-Geo.com

Like DildoKobold, dildos are provided free of charge, no need to bring your own!
He also ran scripts to steal/clone this forum which blew up the error logs! I had to delete THOUSANDS of errors cause of this nutcase!

Exactly. At first it seemed kinda neat....

Then it was just a gimmick + DRM.

Oh well.

This seems like less of a "not going anywhere with your crowdfunding money" situation and more like an actual product. So I kind of disagree.

This does nothing for me. I love the old cartridges for their nostalgia, but it's really all about playing the games. The thing I love about the cartridge systems is that you put the game in, turn it on, and start playing. There are no menus and very little load times. This device doesn't help with either of those things. It's just another tiny thing that will get lost.

I was expecting a new Sega PICO.  I am disappoint.

Ha!

I can make many connections.

Both concepts are retrograde.

In a contrived attempt to exploit nostalgia, they insult us.

Or something like that. :)

Why does this remind me of the Atari 2600 supercharger????

I guess its an improvement; at least you don't need a cassette player :)

It's just silly, even worse than "physical" game releases that are nothing but a case and a download code printed on a slip of paper (like Ducktales).

I'm pretty sure Ducktales Remastered had a physical media release (if that is the game you are referring to)

That is all I thought of when I opened this thread originally :)

I had both 'fake' physical and 'real' physical releases:

Quote from: wikipediaOn August 20, 2013, a retail PlayStation 3 version was released that includes a code to download the title and a DuckTales collector pin.  A disc-based version of the game was released on November 12, 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
