Anyone try this with the PCE/Turbo side? I'm curious as it seems the majority of us are all over the world and if it was super easy to setup maybe we can have people get down on some multiplayer! I know emulation isn't perfect, but to get to Obey with fellow gamers on these forums would be awesome.

I'm down to try this out.  I have messed around with Magic Engine before.  I actually beat Drac X on it before I got my DUO.

Is that available for OSX?  If so, I'd probably be down for some 5-player DE.

I think so via mednafen. If anything, you could always emulate windows on your mac.

If memory serves, however, the topic has always died out because of the work that would have to happen to make netplay work with pce.  Something about compiling things and pizza rolls or something.  Some guy on magic engine forums once even researched this thing all the way into the linuxes and kernels and such, but ultimately it was determined that it would be easier to daisy chain extension cables off a tap across the country with signal boosters every 150 yards.

I hope this is the time a more software-based solution is found.
I'll have to do some more research, but it looks like you can pull it off with Hamachi and the net client on Mednafen. I have used Hamachi in the past for games like Macross VOXP in the XP days and once you set it up it works great. I'm not so sure how well it will play on Windows 7 machines (or even 8.1 and 10) but if push came to shove, I can setup a Windows XP virtual machine and go from there. In my infinite free time I'll see how well it will play on my local lan at home and then test it over the interwebs. 5 player DE would be awesome, that would be the goal of this project.
