I know its a long shot but i'm after a Photo Reader for a summer gaming event in the UK next year.

If anyone has one they would like to sell then please let me know... cheers.

What is a photo reader?

NecroPhile

It's a scanning accessory that lets you scan stuff into Artist Tool using a PrintBooster.

Is that generally called scanner?  If you're in the USA it may be cheaper to buy those POS $50 all-in-one printer/scanner set and use only the scanner part.  Last time I saw a stand alone scanner of any kind available, they were over $100 and when I asked the Best Buy drone why is the stand alone scanner more expensive than same brand all-in-one, he didn't have any non BS answer.

The Print Booster is technically a plotter device... it holds a marker, and moves the marker left and right, while the paper scrolls up (and possibly down).  The printing takes place by having the marker lifted or dropped down to contact the paper below.

The Photo Reader sits in the armature in place of the marker, and views the portion of the paper is below it, while the paper scrolls and the pen/reader arm moves back and forth.

I believe that only Artist Tool is able to manipulate either/both of these devices.

It should not be compared to a modern-day scanner, which is far superior.

I have both of these devices (actually, 2 Print Boosters), and to be honest they're all gathering dust on a shelf.

rcantor77, send me a PM.
