@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Hi Everyone,
I just signed up recently.   Been perusing the forums for a bit, so i thought i should do a proper introduction.....

I've been a fan of the T16 and similar systems/games forever.   I got into collecting ATARI 2600 consoles and games a few years back, and still do today.   I've recently put in a small "game room" in my house, and then it exploded into getting all the classic systems I used to have as a kid (or wanted)...TG16, NES, Sega Genesis, PS1, etc.

I originally bought the TG16 when it came out from my local TRU.   I played it for a few weeks straight - Bonk, Keith Courage, and R-Type.   Then the system broke and I had to return it..... :(
When I bought it, it was a floor model, and when i brought it back,  they were completely out of stock of the TG16.   So i ended up getting a Sega CD, and that's that.
I had a friend down the street who had one too, and I was always feeling like i was missing something....it just seemed cooler than the Sega or NES.  There was just something so cool about the graphix, sounds, etc.....
So years go by, i get an emulator, and play some games.  But not until recently i picked up a unit and starting playing the games on a big screen TV.  I feel like i'm a young teen again playing the systems on my TV (and not my computer).   There's nothing like the feeling of swapping out games in your systems, using the original controllers, etc.  It's very therapeutic.

Anyway, so I am into collecting the TG16 games in cases (no boxes).   I also collect CIB Atari and Sega Genesis games and loose NES carts.   For the other systems that aren't so dear to my heart, i just picke up any condition/version of the game to have a playable copy.   You guys might refer to me as a collectard on here, but that's OK.  I enjoy collecting the vintage games, and when i have time, playing them.  But the collector in me enjoys the presentation of a collection too, thus the boxes or cases.
I even picked up some of the TG16 Spine Labels from Sparky.  Beautiful!

I also collect some other stuff too, like Horror Movies, Steelbooks, Resin Statues, etc....just about anything i like.   I work in the collectible industry as a model maker/sculptor, so I'm very close to this sort of thing everyday.  It's basically a way of life :)

Welcome to Pcenginefx!

It's okay to enjoy playing the actual games on actual hardware.  That's the way that I and many others here are as well.

There's nothing collectarded about any of that.  Sounds like you appreciate the games how it was intended. :)

Now go sculpt us a figure of Kagekiyo from Samurai Ghost!!

...or, uh, ya know...Bonk...

Thanks everyone.
Yes, I really like the tactile feeling of the physical system and games.   :D

Welcome aboard!

Don't worry about the collectard label.  Maroons like ninnypants think it's some horrible insult, akin to calling someone's mother a whore or being labeled a SNERD, but the reality is that most here have at least a smidgeon of collectard running through their veins; it's the only explanation for owning LAs, repro boxes, etc.
