That would be cool but I liked the idea of creating it from original parts.

Quote from: martinine on 01/20/2016, 09:24 PMAbsolutely incredible! I really like the Keith Courage Huey in there! Is heat an issue in the ltight space?
I don't really see it being an issue but I guess only time will tell.
I'm guessing but probably one of the 7805s is for the cd side. You might be able to remove one and have less heat.
If the 7805 are in parallel, they are only running half of load each and with both, it would be less heat than just one.

Quote from: Groover on 01/20/2016, 01:33 AMIt looks good. It really does remind me of a CoreGrafx with a CD-ROM2. I would like to see it with the duo door.

The hu card cover will not open and close well because of where I had to place the region switch. However, I'm sure I could file a small notch out of the the cover for it to work if need be. I just planned on using it without one. If the system would have worked with a chip based region switch then it wouldn't be an issue, since the switch would have been on the back instead.
Keith, That looks great. Thanks for sending up the new pictures with the door. UNO prefect name.

(2) attempt to save the hardware anyway, because you enjoy the challenge and have skills
(3) KEEP TRYING #2

If I attempt this again in the future I'll make a tutorial. I bet come spring or summer time I will. Depends on how bad I want to smell grounded up motherboard debris and burning plastic again. I used an angle grinder with a metal cutting disc to get the cuts smooth instead of jagged.

Hope you had mask on! Those dust from PCB can contain glass and they will permanently irritate your lungs.

WOW.  Talk about appalying a passion to make something unbelievable.  Great job Keith.

TurboXray

I have a Duo that's missing the CD drive. This would a be perfect project for it. Do I have skills, though? Hmm

JoshTurboTrollX

This is terrific!  Way to go!  I would love to see it in action.  :)
Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

cr8zykuban0

man, imagine if the turbografx looked like that, it would have been an awesome looking system!

Nice work, that's awesome  When I first glanced at the pic I thought it was photo-shopped.

Very creative way to transform broken to badass.
