12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

This wasn't by any means easy to find.

Pretty cool.  Thanks for sharing.

Is this game English friendly?  Kinda looks it from this review.

It almost looked like GameFan style to me for a sec. I had EGM2 for a while before starting college and letting all my game mag subscriptions run out. I never read too much, mostly liked looking at screenshots and what games were coming out.

Yes, if you can play Military Madness in English, you can play Neo Nectaris in Japanese.

Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

The main thing is all the attack/move/end turn are in kanji - see the screens on the right, the UI is the green and red boxes down there. But even if you can't read japanese, as long as you figure out where each option is, you're fine, because it's not like there are a lot of them!

I think the layout of the page is actually pretty nice.

Professional :)

I think EGM2's layout was really nice as well.

Neo Nectaris is very english friendly, just a couple of things to learn to know how to move without committing to a move / attack and everything is basically specs in number values.  Awesome game.

One of these days, I'll have to play it.

YES if you played Military Madness, then picking up Neo Nectaris is a pretty easy since it really uses the same menu system.  You might want to check out some online resources.. e.g. This page in particular is a great resource for the translations:  http://nectaris.tg-16.com/quick-neo_nectaris-FAQ-duo-hudson.html#navigate  and here's the new units in the game: http://nectaris.tg-16.com/translate-neo_nectaris-FAQ-duo-hudson.html

On a separate note.. anyone ever tried playing a burned copy of Neo Nectaris on an actual Duo? I found 3 different ISO's of it floating on the internet and all exhibit this strange problem where you can't start the game from the beginning (it just kinda freezes before it plays the intro movie), but you can enter in the code for stage 1 or any other stage and it plays just fine that way.  I'm just wondering if it's just me. :)  These iso's play fine on emulators by the way.

And yes before anyone jumps on me for playing burned ISOs, I do have the real game and it starts fine. That's not the point. :)  (...proactively inserting picture to head off such comments  https://i.imgur.com/bKaolhC.jpg )

I have a burnt copy that plays fine, I can't link it to you but let's just say I got it from a certain paradise for large birds...

I always use imgburn at 10x and my Duo-R loves whatever I gently slide into her.

Since you have the real deal in hand, try ripping and burning it.  Maybe all three you found online are bad rips?

heh I never even considered that... duh. That's a great idea!  Is there a consensus on what's the best program to rip Turbo cd's? Or would most any do..

Nightwolve's handy TurboRip is by far the best option: http://www.ysutopia.net/index.php?ind=downloads&op=entry_view&iden=8
