Can anyone recommend a good source for a SCART cable for the Saturn?

I got this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XSSDPO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I didn't already have an S-video cable for my Saturn, so why not?  I am going to also get a SCART cable for a Super Famicom in a week or two to get the best Super Gameboy setup I can get for my TV, and I may do RGB for my Duo one day too, so I should get some mileage out of this device granting it works well.  My TV maxes out at component, but if I ever get a PVM or a framemeister, I'll have the cables already.

I'm in the US, I have a model 2 Saturn (I had a launch Saturn that died on me back in the 90's), so it's NTSC.  I have read it needs c-sync for the model 2, is it just safe to assume and buy a csync cable?  The device above is euro scart.
I think I also need one with a breakout for RCA audio, the ebay links from retroRGB.com didn't seem to have one with both, so I thought I'd come here and see if any of you guys knew a quality maker of these cables.

This is of interest to me as well, I need cables for my Genny (32x) and my Saturn...

I'm perfectly happy with the official Japanese jp21 pin cable, but depends on your setup really.

Those CSY 2100 clones are decent but I've never come across one yet that I didn't need to open it up and do some color adjustment/correction. By default these have a kind of green tint issue.

I got this recently. Almost double the price but I feel it's definitely a step up from that other converter.

Nice, I didn't know about that one.  I read about adjusting the color pots and I'm ok with that, I'm a little bit of a tweaker by nature so I'd probably done that no matter what given the option.  The only problem would be if that no amount of adjustment could come to a satisfactory conclusion, but it sounds like others had no problems getting it to a place where they liked.

Here is a thread I started on good scart switchers. Some good information in this thread by people here

I got a POS 3$ one off ebay, and use a Euro to JP convertor that I got from RetroGamingCables.uk.duder or whatever.

Any "Saturn RGB cable" you find on eBay should work.

NTSC and PAL Saturns actually have a different pinout on the video out port itself.  So if you want a Euro SCART for an NTSC Saturn, you need a different cable from a Euro SCART meant for a PAL Saturn.  It's Sega's stupidity at it's finest.

Really?  Shit, I must have got lucky then.

I got a Euro SCART cable for my JP Saturn, and it worked once I put the JP21<->Euro dongle on it.

That's pretty dumb

Thanks for this heads up!  I hadn't bought one yet.  I did buy a few passthroughs though, I think that will be fine, they should be wired to the euro standard so I can get RCA audio out.  Bought some cheapo ones from ebay, they were estimated like a 2 month shipping time though...

This page from the GameSX wiki might also be helpful when either rewiring an existing cable or building your own from scratch:

I had one of these when I had a JP Saturn. Also I have mega drive and PS1 scarts from this place.

SignOfZeta

I just made my own cable and hacked a DB9 into the back of the Saturn. Compared to a Duo this is dead easy. The SCART connector design is kind of a POS and most aftermarket cables I've seen aren't even up to the very low standard set for them by 1970s French engineers.

Personally, I'd rather manually switch a cable than pollute the signal (and air) with a pile of smelly sub-Harbor Freight plastic and shitty wiring.

retrogamecables is the best and you choose whether or not you want c-sync.

I bought all mine on eBay from a seller retro_console_accessories. I have a c-sync and a sync on luma for my saturnes. My model 2 Saturn prefers the sync on luma.

Dan recommended this seller to me as well.  I'm looking to then when I get SNES cables and a better Saturn cable probably.

Ditto. All my SCART cables i bought through them. Great build quality and great video quality. A few years ago i stumbled across Retrorgb.com which led me to that scart cable seller/maker. Awesome resource for all RGB on older systems. Hope this helps any!

Nice, I didn't know about that one.
BTW, last I heard from that seller (today) was that he was going to pull that listing.
Apparently, he's been in talks with some "technical people" in the community and needs to make some tweaks. Whatever that means.

Just get one from an EU eBay seller. As long as it's RGB, you're laughing.

You sure s-video is not enough?

Seriously though what others said retro_console_accessories makes good quality ones.

I bought my scart cable for my model 1 saturn from this gal.  http://ebay.com/itm/Sega-Saturn-stereo-csync-RGB-SCART-cable-for-NTSC-model-Saturn-lead-cord-/161614608138?nav=SEARCH She is awesome.  Her cables are high quality.  She does different sync versions so let her know your model, what you are hooking up to, and she will point you in the right direction on which cable to buy from her. Super fast on the shipping as well.

Thanks for that link.

Mine arrived the other day. It's sturdily made, no doubt. As you mentioned- good built quality.

I'm happy with it. One of the better RGB SCART to Component converters that I've used thus far.

I know I'm late to the thread, but I'd like to vouch for these guys as well.  They do great work and respond quickly to inquiries, unlike the other RGB cable seller based out of Florida.

I have that Scart to BNC cable and have no issues. Have you tried plugging/unplugging the scart ends for both cables?

I'm gonna check the pins and try again, the guy that sent the PVM cable assured me it was tested, so it's probably the genny cable.

Either way the picture is the TITS.

Has the OP bought the cables yet? Did he take the advise or buy shitty cheap cables anyway after asking ?

Also here is a good SCART to Component adaptor Bob from RetroRGB.com likes. I trust his opinion as he tests so much stuff.

I've been using these S-video cables with my PVM and it's great fwiw.  I didn't feel like jumping down the RGB rabbit hole yet.  It's a huge step up from composite and they aren't those cheapo retrobit cables that have s-video and composite.  They're handmade by some dude in poland.
