Hello all,

If you had any suggestions or things you would like to see added to pcengine-fx.com, please feel free to post them here.

Well, I think a chatroom might be nice for a while, just to see if it catches on with the site's visitors. Even a simple JAVA chatroom would be cool. Nothing fancy, just a nice basic way to chat with other users.

PCEngineFX

Thanks for the suggestion!  That is a good idea...and I've been thinking about that too....we will see.

Developer Kit tutorials. Lots and lots of them.

nec man

Well you have lots of pictures info and reviews and the nec legacy has long ago died so I dont think there is too much more you can do. Most of your updates consist of pc-fx users list and even though it is interesting to see how many people still care about the pc-fx it won't bring in any new visitors. I personally like the reviews best since I visit them alot when I am buying games that are japanese so I can find out if you can play them without japanese knowledge. Actually the one thing that would be good is a list of good pc-engine emulators. I tried magic engine but it did not seem too good. Well that's what I want. Hope that helps you.

I feel the need here to defend Magic Engine. It plays nearly every Turbo/PC Engine/SuperGrafx game made with very few problems. It is also still being updated on a regular basis.

As far as site suggestions, I'm glad to see more PC FX reviews but would like to see some more faqs/walkthroughs/hints too. Maybe someone could translate some PC FX manuals too ? Yeah, I know it's a lot to ask! :)

The hard work put into this site is appreciated! Keep up the good work!

PCEngineFX

Well, I can't please everyone with my updates :)  Though most of my updates are of the FX users list, what you don't know is that I'm always working on new features or specials for the site as well...and those don't come around on every update.  I'm also constantly working on other sections as well (like the TurboStation 16 site re-make).  As for the FX site, if you have reviews you want to submit, please do so.

Could you change the shade of gray used on the front page just slightly? it looks like a strobe light w/ my res. and color depth. I have to close my eyes and blindly click for 'enter'. Sorry if that sounds too harsh! Its the best turbo site I have seen :-)

PCEngineFX

What rez/color depth are you using to make it look like that?

i'm a big fan of the pcfx TV programs you did...I like seeing games and commercials that i've never seen in action...
just my 2 cents... :D

spamcatch2004

I really liked the old site, but I havent had time go through it thoroughly. The old sit was a great site. If the new site is as good then there shouldnt be that much of an improvement. I'm glad this site is around.

evilmax17

I'd really like to see an archive of all the available NEC commercials that are available.  USA/JP, TG-16/DUO, everything there is.

Love the site. One of the best around, especially for the Duo.

Possible suggestions:

Where are they now? A section reviewing the recent software of PC Engine/PC-FX developers like Falcom, Hudson, NEC, Konami, etc.

I don't see what you could do about it, but I wish more people would post in the forums.

I LOVE all the video content. The more the better.

neokellyzero

Have you considered a section fo TG16/PC Engine reviews from forum contributers?  I know that there are times when I am looking for opinions or to share mine.  There really isn't a good place to do this online, one that is consistently updated or has enough contributers, except this site.  This is by far the best site on the net for nec info and being able to provide or recieve feedback about games on all nec consoles would be awesome-

Nutribrain

Try www.pcecp.com, sometimes you have some luck and the game you're looking for is reviewed, but most of the time in very briefly manner.

If we take Nutribrain's idea to the next level: we should start posting reviews, or mini-reviews, or even explanations / descriptions of games at www.pcecp.com

1. we could start a thread here (pcenginefx) and keep an updated list of the titles we have contributed reviews/comments for.

2. we can scour our own history of posts here (pcenginefx) and recycle the "mini-reviews" we've already written here when we post info on games or make recommendations.

3. we can encourage folks to contribute stuff at www.pcecp.com.

I suggested this in the past, but I never followed up on it.  If we made a concerted effort here and at magicengine.com forums (possibly other places)... we might get a handful of folks to make regular contributions to pcecp.com

i think this would be awesome.

Yeah, I agree.  PCEP is already there ready for people to contribute.  I'd love to see more mini-reviews there.  Let's do it!

Keranu

I like that idea and since I have been writing a lot of material for my site (including full and mini-reviews), I'll have some good stuff to use already. I think I have submitted a review or two to PCEP before in the past...

all right... so let's start a thread and then we can update it as we add more and more mini-reviews. we can even help each other by posting our mini-reviews here first, then getting feedback. This is totally optional, of course...

J.J. and Jeff - A wonderful yet wacky platform game! Choose between J.J. or Jeff and fight your way through fun, challenging levels while the opposite character taunts you through. Very fun and very hilarious!

King of Casino - Certainly not a very exciting game, but for myself, I found this game unbelievably relaxing and soothing, due to the well mannered atmosphere of pleasent art and charming music. The game itself isn't bad at all too if you're into casino games and it has a cool plot.

Time Ball - A unique game and can provide some solid entertainment at first, but it's clearly not a game for everyone and can get boring after the first time it's played. It kind of plays like the classic Brickout game, except there are bricks on all corners and it even has some maze elements. It's original, but don't play Time Ball if you're looking for lots of action.

It Came From the Desert - Cool for it's time, but being an old FMV game, it hasn't aged very well. While most people dump this game, I find it quite creative. The gameplay is not very much, but it's decent and the cheesy FMV sequences are a treat for people like me. This game is actually pretty frightening at times, too.

The Addam's Family - The concept of this game is actually pretty fun, but the way the game came out wasn't so great. The graphics are not eye candy for sure and the gameplay isn't the most comfortable. However the boss fights are REALLY cool sometimes. The concept and boss fights make this game worth playing, for me at least.

Terraforming - Presentation wise, this game is a treat. The graphics are colorful, nicely detailed backgrounds with a good amount of parallax, and tons of sprites on screen at once with little slow down. The music is pretty rad as well. The gameplay isn't very complex or varied, but simple and linear, which can be cool in my books. Hardcore shooter fans might not appreciate this game though.

Of course I reviewed a few HuCard and CD games that get dumped on, so I had to defend them as usual ;) .

I'd like to see the number of forum subcatagories reduced. Having PC Engine, and TG-16 is seperate catagories doesn't seem that smooth since...well, they're the same thing.

I suppose it would be different if both forums were just overflowing with posts, but that's not the case, and I don't think there are many TG-16 owners that don't import. We're all the same crowd.

Anyway, I've loved the site for years. Keep it up.

Oh, one more complaint, wmv. format. Its a pain. Xvid, or MP4 would be nicer, especially for non-Windows users.

I posted a thread earlier stating I would like to see more turbo stuff preserved and saved here so we can have it all on one website. Manuals, game scans, game pics, turbo magazines in pdf and whatever else can be saved before it is lost. I believe a website so dedicated to the NEC consoles should probebly focus mainly on preserving what we can still find of the turbo games for future generations to enjoy. And like I stated before, I have about 55 manuals in pdf that I would like to share but need some help cause I am not the smartest when it comes to sending files larger then what can be sent in email. I also have a dungieon explorer II faq on game faqs that I would be more then happy to share here. I am also working on a Dynastic hero, and magical chase FAQ.

i'd love to see a global turbo/pc-engine (all iterations) games list on the site.

very similar to the wonderful one up on pcfxworld.  same format, same amount of info :)

would be very slick and very helpful in times of reference need.

I actually have a good idea.
Since there are some who despise the growing number of polls on the forum-
perhaps a place can be made just to put the polls in- so if people do want them- they know where to find them- and if people don't want them they won't feel bombarded with them.

This is coming from one who has gone poll crazy himself.

Well, I am a member of a lot of other forums, and none of them stray like this one - it's almost out of control, and pretty much unvisitable (if that's a word) if you're gone for a week or more.  For the next little while I will only have sporadic internet access, and, well, this forum becomes VERY hard to read/browse.  Just trying to put another refresher in people's heads without pleading.  Some of you are thinking: "if it's so hard to read, don't come back".  It's something I'm currently considering.

OD

turbofan1

You are right about this board almost being unvisitable. There`s A couple members in here, that constantly fill up the boards with garbage posts.I think people probably no who I'm referring too.Same could be said about me,"if you don`t like it leave".I might do the same.
