Ewww.  Wouldn't that be a tomato sauce covered pasta filled with the "savory sauce" of a Genpei (whatever the hell that is)?   Sorry, but I don't swing that way.

Isn't it kind of silly to have seperate choices for GP II and Samurai Ghost? I mean, I know the differences between the two games are like night and day, but....

What?!?  Something silly in this forum?  Well I'll be damned, there's a first for everything.

It's not really that goofy.  If given the choice of owning either Genpei Toumaden II or Samurai Ghost (not both), I'd choose Samurai Ghost.  I prefer U.S. releases and some don't - just like some girls swallow and some don't.

Is there really any big difference between Genpei Tormaden II and Samurai Ghost ?

I prefer to own US games over JP over JP ones too, of course..  this paticular game is pretty damn Japanese tho huh?? About as Japanese as can get -  seem like it may be OK to squeak by on the Japanese version.

There are no differences except the conversion of in-game text from Japanese to Engrish.

Actually I'm pretty sure the Japanese version features an opening while the American version doesn't. Maybe they ditched it because it featured Japanese top-to-bottom, right-to-left text that scrolled by that the American company didn't want to bother with reprogramming.

No she's still in the game, even the Japanese characters next to her I think.

Wrong!

Like I said, the text was translated to Engrish. I'm pretty sure the opening you're thinking of is just the lady with the Japanese text. Or, the in American version's case, Engrish text.

Ok I just checked and the Japanese version definitely introduces a special opening right after booting up the game that is not in the American version. The American version just goes straight to the title screen instead and yes nat was correct about the Engrish speaking old lady :D .

I have the JP version, and I'm curious: does the US one keep the scene where the samurai boss commits seppuku?

Ever since I played Genji and the Heike Clans on Namco Museum 4, I've been a fan of these games! (I have Samurai Ghost as well)  I love the extended commerical promo for the original arcade game :

Sinistron

While GTI has different viewpoints- I find the gameplay seriously lacking.  Second one still has poor gameplay- but a mighty notch above the first one.

The gameplay in the second one isn't that bad. I've played much, much worse. I rather like the second game.
