OK, Help With Yet Another Game (Neutopia 2)....

 I have fought the main boss, Dirth repeatedly, and have died several times....
 Here's the thing: I'm not sure if I ever got the Sun Shield, which an old man warned me I'd need to face Dirth.

 First of all, is it possible to defeat Dirth without the shield?
 And secondly, is there an easy way I can find out if I even have the shield?

My memory is fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure you need that shield, not sure what it looks like though.  It's been atleast 10 years or more since I played it.  Nod might remember though, I think he's played it more recently.

Isn't the best equipment Sun Sword, Gold Shield, and Gold Armor?  Anyway, the Gold Shield is in the towers near Igloo Town, and you can tell if you have the Gold Shield by the color (it matches the coloring of the Gold Armor and Sun Sword).  If you're still unsure, go to GameFaqs and input the password they have and compare equipment; it's supposed to put you right outside the last dungeon with a full inventory.  Kick ass game, by the way.

 Sure enough, I had somehow missed the shield I needed. I went back, got it, and beat Dirth on the first try.

This is exactly what happened to me when I rented it back in the day and got near the end.

I gave up on finding the shield though and haven't played it since.
