I bought two games off this guy almost three months ago and have yet to get anything from him except empty promises that he's taking care of the situation. I lost track of time on this sale and, unfortunately, the 45 day limit on paypal for complaints passed me by. Just want people to be very aware of this seller, especially since his rating on eBay is 100%. Nectarsis also apparently had a run-in with this guy as well. I'm still communicating back and forth with this guy, so we'll see what happens, but I'm not hopeful.

BTW, the games were Bloody Wolf and Neutopia.

Well stiffing one of our loyal members just isn't going to be taken lightly by the community. I for one won't buy anything from him EVER. 3 months just shows he plans on not making good on the sale. Can he provide a shipping receipt to your address? If he can't I suggest you also head over to digitpress and make a posting on him being a horrible seller also. Between the 2 sites he wont be selling anything much in the future.

That pisses me off even more when a seller pulls a fast one just because you can't damage his EBay approval. Little does this assmunch know that you're a trusted member of the biggest Turbo/PCE forum in the world- and if his whole gig is selling turbografx games that he just shot himself in the foot- regardless of his precious Ebay rating. Speaking for myself- I buy games regularly and I'll no longer be considering any items from turbozone4u.

About 2 years ago, I bought some games from him on ebay. He told me that he had a bunch of stuff that he could sell outside of ebay (to avoid fees) and when I purchased them, he used the same story on me...he was investigating the situation, there is no tracking number for International shipments, blah, blah, blah.

Back when ebay revealed bidder's IDs, I used to get messages from this dude every time I bid on something. I never went for his line of shit though, as I figured the risk was too high and reward too low to make a deal outside of ebay's protection. You're too trusting of a guy*, but you probably still have some recourse; I don't know about Canuck laws, but here in the States, his ass would be on the line for wire fraud and/or mail fraud.

That guy did the same thing to me once a few years ago. Whole thing smelled funny, so I declined.

Just a thought: did you fund the Paypal payment with a credit card? If so, your card provider probably allows a longer charge back period (Mastercard allows for 120 days).

If a refund via cc is possible, then forget the games and tell him to blow his horn where the sun don't shine. Obviously, he's just buying more time cause if he's hasn't mailed in three months, then he's a con or a lazy slug. Either way, good chance you're not going to get those games. Better off waiting for them to pop up on Ebay or the forums.

The dude emailed me back when ebay let you see who was bidding on what. He told me he had some turbo games if I wanted. I declined though, but only because I was out of cash. haha. I guess I got lucky!

Yeah Ceti honestly I wouldn't want the game at this point- his game has gone on too long- if he isn't gonna bend over backwards to compensate for the aggravation by giving you some free shit then I'd tell him to refund you completely. I'd take it as an insult that three months later he's like Ok- let's do half of the transaction. This guy is clearly an incredible asshole.

Looks that way though your feedback sticks with you. This guy has 100% feedback though because he uses legit Ebay sales to fool people into thinking he's trustworthy outside of Ebay. This guy stalks auctions and emails everyone saying he has everything (things he doesn't list on Ebay) and that he'd like to sell it to you privately. I honestly think this is the guy who did the same thing to me- and I asked him what he had- and he e-mailed me back asking what I wanted. I e-mailed him a short list and he sent me two e-mails back- both asking again what I wanted and I dropped the communication sensing something off.

And not to mention that offering people outside deals THRU eBay (ceti said he was contacted through eBay's email system) is a violation of the terms of service agreement. It has been since about 2000 or 2001. That's a great way to get your user id frozen or taken away.

Wow. I'm glad I ignored him. He sent me 2 messages (couple months apart) on Ebay saying that he had a ton of turbo stuff and to email him to buy from him. I checked out what he had for sale and it sucked, so I never thought twice about it. Plus, it sounded kinda stalker-ish that he was checking out my purchases (which I thought they hid your name to avoid this kind of shit) and emailing me to tell me to buy stuff from him. Sorry to hear that he screwed you over.

EDIT: Nevermind, found out he got the names. Once you leave feedback with the seller, it lists your name, which renders hiding the name during bidding useless. The only thing it does is prevents harassment while bidding on an item.

Yep, he went after me about a month back. Emailing me through eBay's email service saying he noticed I am interested in turbografx games. We corresponded a few times but nothing ever came out of it. Good thing too. We are a pretty tight community, there's got to be some way we can bring this guy down

I dealt with this guy 2 or 3 times when he was gupster2. At least twice, it's been a few years, so I can't recall too clearly.

1st purchase was on ebay, then again this may not have happened as it's been a few years... Anyway, that went well if it happened.

Next purchase was the, "Hey, I have more games for sale not on ebay, but I want to avoid fees" pitch.

I agreed to buy games from his list, and pay the fees, as long as he listed it as an auction or BIN, for my protection. He eventually agreed after I said I'd pay the $5 or so in fees if he set it up as a BIN. He setup the BIN, I quickly grabbed the game lot, and I had my 3 games. Later, they arrived. All was OK.

Sometime later he watched a Legend of Hero Tonma auction, and saw I bid up to $70 for it (New game). He sent me an offer, saying he'd sell it for $70 plus shipping. I had already dealt with him on ebay before, so I thought, "The ebay transaction went fine, rather than make thigns more complicated I'll go along with this guy and deal off ebay with him, he didn't con me before".

Canada post was no help as the package wasn't insured/express. I even called their customer service number. They said only the shipper could initiate an investigation. I gave up after 4-6 weeks after purchase. I paid with an international money order. He had many excuses, and also sent me a scan of a receipt, could have been photoshopped. He didn't offer to ship a replacement. I felt fucked over, and vented once or twice to him through e-mail. I didn't complain too much, as I imagined him laughing on his end.

Funny thing is, a year or so later he messaged me through ebay AGAIN when I was trying to buy the same game. I rememebr sending a "longer than it should have been" reply, asking him why he thought I would want to shell out another $70+ dollars for a game from him, when the first didn't arrive???

I communicated with him more than I should have.

He's a scammer. Maybe all his TG-16 stuff will burn up and not be insured. I imagine he may have been one of the TZD folks selling in Canada, judging by all his NOS (New Old Stock). Another possibility, is he had a decent chunk of $$$$$ set aside, and bought up a lot of TZD's stock at wholesale prices, years ago when they were clearing out the Duo's and such.

It's one of the most expensive scams I've been caught in. While $70 isn't a WHOLE LOT of money, it is still money that was mine.

I later found the same game, at direct4games, for a bit less ($50? $60? I forget).

My collection is complete. I'm glad.

Makes sense to me. I mean eBay HAS to protect its buyers and sellers from potential fraud. He's soliciting us ON their website so it makes sense they would be at least somewhat interested in what's going on with this guy. Granted the transactions take place outside of eBay at the discretion of the solicited but in these cases I would hope that would be overlooked. WRITE THOSE EMAILS! Message: This user changes his name whenever a number of people get hip to his act- his last name was turbozone4u. He preys upon the turbo grafx community (fans of an older video game system)- in the past he has stalked auctions and lately he pulls names from sellers' feedback and then sends e-mails saying he has anything you need and asking to do deals outside of EBay. His Ebay feedback is 100%- which is how he entices others into dealing with him outside of EBay- to which he then stalls as long as he can with the item- says he sends it (never does) and tries to stall until it's too late to report it to a credit card company. It's a good thing I've never seen this guy around...he'd be up shit creek without a paddle because I'd take him to the cleaners. I know way too many people up north who wouldn't mind hopping in a few vans for a classic beatdown with baseball bats.

I'm hitting up a complaint tonight, or maybe today at lunch.

Well, after messing around on the Canadian ebay site I went to eBay.com and finally was able to get a complaint through:

Hello,

I'm unfortunately having to report a member of eBay. I was contacted by another Canadian member in March, 2009 who offered to sell an item(s) outside of eBay, and I was stupid enough to accept. Needless to say the items never arrived and later found out that I haven't been the first person who has been misled by this eBay member. He apparently stalks auctions and then emails bidders with offers to sell items outside of eBay in order to avoid fees.

This member has apparently gone under several name changes. At the time of my transaction his account name was "turbozone4u" and has since changed his name to "turbostuff09".

I, of course, do not expect any financial support from eBay as this transaction was handled outside of eBay. However, I do feel that as an eBay member I need to report this seller. He is taking advantage of not only other eBay members, but also of the rules and policies of this site.

I've put a warning about this dumbass in my current auction on eBay. I hope my addendum isn't against eBay policy, but I've read it over and it doesn't seem to be in violation of their rules.
