Yeah, a bit of a noobie questions, but I do own (or have owned) a PC Engine, Core Grafx, GT, Super CD-ROM2 and a PC-FX, so I'm not completely green!

Anyway, I just picked up a Core Grafx/CD-ROM2/Interface Unit set.  The CG has everything, but the Interface unit just came as is.  The AV obviously isn't an issue, but the AC is.  I figured I could just use the regular PCE (or Mega Drive) AC adapter with it asks for 9V negative in, just like the PCE.  Unfortunately, it doesn't fit.  Thanks NEC...  So, am I right in assuming that I've got to hunt down an AC adapter now?

edit...

Oh... the IFU-30 is 1450 mA, while the PCE is 650mA.  Still, the Mega Drive one is 1200mA and works on the PCE.  It's too bad the plug won't fit into the IFU-30.

I'll be PSU hunting I guess.

I actually don't know of any off-the-shelf AC adaptors that will provide the current needs of the PCE w/CDROM2. It hogs more power than any other NEC system I've owned. Getting something with a tip that will fit is pretty easy, getting something that will flow 1.5A on the other hand...

For my Duo R I use this one that Radio Shack sells since its rated for 1A. Its great. Evidently not enough for a IFU though.

Luckily I still have the original power supply for mine, and (somehow) it still works.

FYI, you are looking for a mA number that is equal to, or higher, than the original power supply.

It's 9 volt, isn't it?  Radio Shack still sells a 9v/1500mA adapter with interchangeable tips, one of which would surely work.  It's far from cheap, of course, seeing as it's the Shack.

I'm in the same boat. Haven't had reason yet to replace it, which is surprising-- the thing is 20 years old and still truckin'.

Oh wait, maybe that is the Radio Shack adaptor I have. Its white and says "international" on it. And yeah, its like $26 or something.

Yes sir.

AC adaptor is here.

The tip is an "L" tip and is here.

The first tip is free, so it should be around $31 + tax.  This is what I use for my IFU and it works great.  Just make sure you get the polarity correct, else it'll probably go poof.  Make sure the '-' symbol lines up with the word 'tip' and you'll be set.
Another douche trying to obtain a full Turbo collection.  119/146 so far.  Got a long way to go. Half way there. Hit the 100 mark. ich bein ein obeyer

Great! I'll just head over to my local Radio Shack...  Do you know if there are any in Tokyo? ;)

Actually, it is good information that you gave; just not so useful for me.  I did find one on yahoo auctions at least, but it's 2400yen plus shipping... so around 3000yen.  Kind of expensive.
