Does people really pay crazy prices for this NHK's rare special Math training release ?
I found some interesting screenshots online....

I've seen complete copy going for 380,000 yen ($4200 USD!)  and loose CD only for 88,000 yen ($977 USD!)
Are these prices people actually willing to pay or just insane wishful thinking these store owners dream about?

Tatsujin-san - I know you were looking for these..  are these good prices or normal going rate?

interested to see what other PC Engine lovers think on this one...

I actually got the itch to actually "think about" picking up one of these.... I only got 2 more days left in Japan... but I think my wife will file for divorce if I do..  #-o

I believe that's the going rate.  It's a legitimately rare title (it's said that only 100 were made), so it's one pricey bugger.

Is there a downside to this purchase?
All is well. :)

Aki is rare (and expensive) but you can find it. There are a lot of more rare PC Engine games who are very much harder to find.

Sorry for this uber topic resurrection but I thought the ebay gouging thread wasn't appropriate.

Did someone followed the Akiyamajin auction on YA today? I was at work when it ended and was curious of the ending bid. And I don't know how to see sold Items in YA, and believe me, I tried.

Here you go mate:

312000 Yen = 2440 Euro = 2630 $

The sad answer is: People pay a lot for this game as it is a really rare title.

Opethian

its a conversation piece at best. the only person who  would want to own it is for bragging rights.

Not necessarily, I want to have it (but surely never will) because I want all the PcE games as I wanted them when I was young. The didfference is 20 years ago I was avid of playing them all, now i'm avid to have them all to play them until I die. I'm not Tool.

Sorry for that

It appears peeps will only pay the big bucks if it's complete with the outer box as last year a UK seller was selling a new sealed one without the outer cardboard box and he couldn't sell it. He relisted it over and over each time dropping the price and nobody bought it, I think he started at around £500 and after relisting it for less and less he finally went all the way down to £20 and still nobody bought it.

As a collectard I probably would have picked it up for that price if I had seen it.
