@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Is it legit.
That's just using Free McBoot on a Memory Card to load a homebrew emulator with ROMs off either a disc or USB stick or HDD.

If you're looking to do that sort of console homebrew emulation I'd sooner do it on a hacked Wii or Xbox360.
I agree. The wii homebrew channel is so simple, even I was able to do it with no problem. And i am a moron when it comes to this stuff. I am not ashamed to admit it.

technozombie

The Wii, using component outs on a CRT produces some amazing emulation result. I think it's the closest thing you can to the real thing while also having the benefits of emulation.

ToyMachine78

Interesting. I sold my Wii though.    I saw another add on CL where a guy was selling hacked xboxes  running MAME with a ton of preloaded games for $100. Not a bad deal I guess if you are in the market for an original Xbox, if it can still function as an Xbox.
How hard is it to hack one of those things?

Probably not, they'll probably charge 20-25% above ebay prices and use some stupid excuse saying that you can get it in your hands now instead of waiting for a few days.

I am pretty sure this isn't the first time they tried this either...

EDIT - they tried this in 2012 too...

Yeah that's probably wishful thinking, but it seems most mom n pop retro stores base their prices on price charting and eBay, so to undercut those guys GameStop should be a little cheaper.

Plus they need suckers to sell them stuff first.  "Oh Legend of Zelda cart! 25 cents. Tetris by Tengen? Can't sell it, in the trash. Stadium Event, nice! 25 cents"

I'd rather sell my collection on eBay for 1/10th value of average market price than to sell my turd to Gamestop.

I honestly wonder what person is going to think "Finally.  Gamestop will buy all these old games that I never use.  Thank god."

I can see grandparents taking boxes from the attic/garage in so their grand kids can get what ever the newest thing is. Very rare i bet for lil kids to ask for nes games but im sure they are all over the newest trap team and what not. It's unfortunate as the most of the people that will do this have no idea that those old games have some value and will be getting shafted by gamestop.

ToyMachine78

Damn, it used to be predominantly Western sellers that were gougetards. Now we have an epic Japanese gouger:

I do the same but with an original Xbox. I'm not a super-purist so I can't speak to the emulation perfection (or not)  but I love the thing.

My local retro game store owner goes to a lot of estate sales and buys whole collections from collectors who've decided to get out, mostly. Very little of what he stocks is from individuals who trade in only a game or two.

I don't know if the listing is still there but I think I saw Magical Chase a few days ago listed for $50,000, and another one for around $10,000. I thought I was dreaming.

Its because the title contains "Dragoon". If it were Dragon, Warrior Princess, etc, the game would be worthless lol. It seems any title containing Dragoon is overpriced. That's my theory

I'd be lying if that weren't a factor in my desire to follow up on my friend's recommendation. His suggestions were Thunderforce 3, Alicia Dragoon, and El Viento. He was a hardcore genesis guy back in the day, and was making the recommendations purely off of nostalgia. The first game I tried from his recommendations was right on the money. I had heard of and tried Thunderforce before via emulation, but after following his suggestion and picking it up and really putting some time into it, I became very addicted. I really wanted to follow up on his other recommendations, especially considering I hadn't tried them. Upon investigating the price of these other two games, I was hesitant, and he was equally hesitant and suggested I hold off at those prices.

In attempt to remain somewhat on topic, is this a gouge, and is the seller lying about Ballistix being *Very Fun*?

Bonk NES shows how easily people can be fooled by a player sprite, even if it doesn't move properly. If the SMS/GG Sonic used a pixel-for-pixel Genesis Sonic sprite, they wouldn't suddenly be close to Genesis graphically.

FC Genjin/Bonk' Adventure NES is still impressive for what it is, but it's pretty far off if you try playing it or compare most aspects.

If it was close, then that would mean that SFII ports on SNES and Genesis look and sound exactly the same.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

You can tell in the video how Bonk on the NES "feels".  It does not have the tight controls of the TG16 at all.  The poor controls are only amplified by the annoying sounds, making it a very frustrating game to play.  The GB version is much better than the NES version - meaning Bonk actually moves like Bonk.

I was just going to mention the GB Bonk. While I can't speak for the NES Bonk, the GB version has nice visuals and control but the game just doesn't click with me. Kinda like Bonk 3. Just play Adventure and Revenge over and over. They never get old.

I agree. Adventure and Revenge (and even Super Bonk on the SNES/SFC) are the titles to play.

As a long time owner and player of the game, I can speak for the NES Bonk. And the TG/PCE versions are superior in every aspect IMO. The NES version is a decent play, but compared to the 16-bit offerings, it's far short on quality.
My past-life would've surely led to our demise, and I had left it not a moment too soon. Our escape, though dangerous, had gone well. The train ride, sunlight, and passing snow-covered pine trees came together in a flickering show of our bright, new future together. Her head rested on my shoulder as she soundly slept to the gentle rocking of the passenger car. We felt freedom. We felt peace.

I don't have the NES bonk and honestly I don't want it. Not for the prices it typically goes for. Mainly because of I wanted a fun good looking bonk game to play I would play what I first played as a kid when visiting my cousins house in Dallas TX all so many years ago. The original TG-16 version.

Now if a NES copy fell in my lap for $20 bucks sure but I wouldn't go out of my way to spend a lot on it

exactly!!!! my biggest issue with NES, snes and GB Bonks. They don't move right. The cohesiveness of adventure and revenge is what defines Bonk games. It's those 2 games that make the series. Don't get me wrong I like the nes, snes, and GB versions, I just don't love them like TG versions.
