There is 1 or 2 members I know of willing to pay over 300.00 for it. Plus if you count all the newbie here who are just collecting the "gotta have it US collection" you know all the ones who want to know what this or that game is worth.

If someone were in Japan, certainly they could get the games for less, but seeing as how they are on this hemisphere, starting bid of less than $10 ea seems reasonable to me. It contains a bunch of games I already have or aren't interested in, so it's not juicy enough of a deal for me to bid on, but I wouldn't consider it gouging.

I was the winner, and that actually cost me $12 + $4 shipping = $16, rather than $8, but I do agree that with patience, one should be able to get a decent CIC copy for $20 or under. I decided to get this PC Engine version, because I was despairing of finding a U.S. version, but after committing to getting this Japanese one, a U.S. version for a fair price came across my horizon, so now I have both versions.

Yeah, I know that one was misspelled, but it spent several days turning up in every ebay search for "pc engine" and "nec" and nobody bought it. And like you said, they still turn up for cheap once every month or two. And I know the BIN was $12, but the auction was $8.

I never include shipping in price quotes because there are so many variables and I don't know what country everyone is living in. Some PCEFX members may need overseas shipping, others may be able to arrange local pickup or take advantage of multiple-item discounts; some choose freight, others prefer priority; etc. Finally, some members are a little too quick to enter every dollar amount they see into their mental price guide and ignore the fact that a big percentage of the price they saw was shipping. Best to leave shipping out of the equation and not excite the gougers.

That's an interesting one for sure. I hate it when people say they reflowed the board for a TG-16. No seller with 500 feedback is going to have a thermal chamber to reflow a board. This isn't an XBOX360 or PS3, with a CPU that gets hotter than the sun. We're talking a 16-bit machine running at 8 bits.

Be patient. I've found two for under $70 with the box. You should be able to find one without the box for $50-$60 at the most.

Even before I was a regular on these forums I tried to talk him down to like $5 with the best offer and got turned down every time. That's probably why he doesn't have that option anymore.

At any rate, I rather go with Sparky's cases and labels any day.

Average on Ebay yes. I could have gotten the game last year at the Retro Gaming Convention in Portland Oregon for half that if I knew this was going to happen. Oh well, since when did Neutopia fetch such a high price?

Bitched about Terraforming in chat earlier today. I haven't seen a US copy for somewhere around a year, and in the past few weeks there have been 3 for sale—two of which I'm pretty sure are the same copy.

2 were for sale. PLCards (known reseller) is chasing this game. He is bidding to 200.00 and stopping. There is a possible Shill bidding here and if so I will get a second chance offer to my alternate ID which there is no way I will accept.

There are about 13-15 people watching these auctions. So far I have a list of 6 specific ID's.

I was watching it just to see how high it would go (no intent to bid, as I knew it would jump out of my price range), however, I never expected it to go over $500! Thats just insane! Oddly enough, the other copy that was being auctioned ended suddenly with days left to go...
