Has anyone out there fixed a stuck pixel in their TE? I'm thinking about trying to gently rub the screen to see if that fixes the problem. I tried hooking up a dvd player through the tv tuner but couldn't get that working last night. I made a dvd that flashed multiple colors and I was going to try that and see if that would solve the problem. For some strange reason I just got a black screen on the TE instead of anything that would show on a tv. So either I was missing something yesterday while trying to hook up the TE to a dvd player, or my tv tuner is busted, or that's just not possible.

But anyways I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to fix those stuck pixels in their TE?

If you have a flash cart, you can try Rover's color cycling rom, but don't expect much.  These LCDs are ancient, so you have nearly zero chance of unsticking any pixels.

I once gave my TE to nat to fix the sound issue- and when I gave it to him it had two stuck pixels- he returned it- sound fixed- stuck pixels gone.  When I thanked him for the pixels he didn't even realize he fixed them- but theorized that when he was cleaning the thing up he may have rubbed it out of the screen- so I'd say rubbing it is worth a shot.

Rubbing one out is always worth a shot.

Where would I get a flash cart?

You're choices are the Tototek PCE Pro (32 meg) and the NEO Power PC-E (64 or 128 meg).  I'd avoid the former, as even though it's a tad cheaper, it's bulky, requires a parallel port, and can be a bit of a pain to get working with newer computers.

Right.

I've even heard of people using the rubber eraser on a pencil for this sort of rubbing/massaging, but YMMV and just remember to be super careful.

I had a stuck pixel on my PSP and it will never go away.  It is in a terrible spot too.  Tried the color thing, didn't seem to work.

Maybe older screens are easier, I hope for your sake!

I have had almost zero luck getting rid of stuck pixels on TEs/GTs, FWIW. The exception being Sinistron's.

I'll have to get one when I get some extra money. I tried to get rid of the stuck pixel last night by rubbing but no luck. It's only one pixel in the top right corner so it's not that bad. I just happen to notice it every time I play my TE.
